Guest guest
Hi Everybody- There are so many new people now, you all probably forgot me! I've been out of commission with a new job and a new house with my new " domestic partner " , Jeffy and my son, Jay. We also now have a blended family with each of us having a dog move in with us, and of course my 8 birds. Pretty wacky! Anyways, this really isn't off topic. As many of you know, I'm a nurse who was working in a hospital until about 5 weeks ago when I started a new job at an outpatient orthopedic clinic with 11 orthopods. Most of the docs also have PAs working with them. I was talking to one of the best PAs there, a really great guy and very competent, about RA. He said when he was in PA school when they had some people with RA come and talk to them about daily life with RA. They had the students walk around with hard chickpeas (garbanzo beans) in their shoes and many other things. I know someone on this list goes and talks to med students about this, too. I just wanted to share what a great thing it is to do, as it made such an impression on this guy and his classmates and gave them a much better understanding and compassion for RA sufferers. Hope everyone has a great day! Cary
