Guest guest
Hi, Myria! Down here (between Binghamton and Ithaca), we have Excellus BCBS, which sounds like it pays a few dollars more. I have found them very reliable and my fastest payer, without many hassles, although must get preauth for CTs/MRI's, of course. I don't know anything about Empire BCBS, or even why you should have a different one than we have. BTW, how is the ongoing feedback about your noncovered benefits fee?---Sharlene > > I am being solicitated to rejoin Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield (not the state plan) with common codes being paid 11 dollars more than Medicare. Now I want to rejoin because the factory 3 doors down from me now has this insurance. On the other hand I've not been impressed with them in the past as the money was considerably lower than what they are offering now. Plus the HASSLE factor seems to be astronomical with them. Looking for advice from other New Yorkers. Thanks >
Guest guest
They increased their rates a couple of years ago, they were abysmal prior to that. There is a hassle factor for precerts for CT/MRI but I try to not order too many of those. They do not bill through the clearinghouse, have to print out and mail claim forms. However, if you need more patients and this factory can provide that, they are not my worst insurance. Guest guest
NO PROBLEMS AT ALL regarding the NCBF -- they remind me I did this for them or they called at 10 on Sunday and I answered them when confused about meds or symptoms. I have been DEEPLY touched by the stories my patients remind I didr them that I have long forgotten! only one of 60 has balked -- hesitated with 2 new patients brought on board last week they said fine too. some plan on paying 10 a month, some 25 each time they come in since I see them every 3 months but several have already paid in full. I did get rid of the family fee - and make kids free. To: Sent: Wednesday, February 8, 2012 7:26 PM Subject: Re: Blue Cross Empire New York State Hi, Myria! Remind me again, how much are you charging? $100?---Sharlene > > > > I am being solicitated to rejoin Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield (not the state plan) with common codes being paid 11 dollars more than Medicare.
