Guest guest
Hi to All, For those interested since I believe that not only am I the only one on this treatment in the group, I was told by the Rheumatologist at s Hopkins the other day, that they have not even started using it yet although it has been out for quite some time now. She agreed with me that it is easier to give a pill than what I am doing, however, she was extremely interested, in fact so much so, she offered me to be the first to try it at Hopkins....but too late as I am already half way through the process. There is no medication involved with the Prosorba Column. Each week for 12 weeks I am hooked up to a device and have a needle in each arm that removes my blood filters the RA antibodies out through the column and returns my blood via the other arm. It takes approximately 3-4 hrs. and the full effects of the treatment are usually not felt until the treatments are finished. This is the only therapy, in 20 yrs, that has dropped my RA titer over 100 points! And although afraid to say yet...I am feeling better...the first time I can say that in years. If anyone has any questions I will surely try to answer.... Blessings to you all. Joanne
