I haven't had one pay yet, but we have them listed in our financial policy as a " non-covered service " along with pricing.  Every patient has paid for it - it is a convenience for them and they do not mind paying.

Hi everyone

Does anyone know if private insurances pay for phone consultations?

Since I see the pediatric population, I seem to be making phone consults.

Thanks

Hit or miss it seems. Some paid ‘on accident’ (covered one

time, but not the next – think it depended on whose eyes saw the claim go

through). Even United, who adamantly stated the NEVER pay for any encounter

that is not in person, face-to-face, paid for one ;)

Agree w/ – it is a convenience that most folks are willing

to pay for. Those that don’t, come in for an office visit.
