Guest guest
I'm not Peggy but I'm 99.9% sure she's talking about western NC. That's where the mountains are. No mountains in eastern NC near the beaches. Where are you renting on the beach? I love the outer banks and we've rented several times on Topsail Island. Just gorgeous and at sea level so no altitude problems!! Beth IPF 06/06Draw close. Hold hands. Life is short. God is good. Guest guest
We're not sure yet where we're going. I want to see the leafs this year. The beach sounds great but I can't be in the sun so I'll be happy just to go.. I'm wondering what the elevation is going to do. Is it a matter of needing more O2? We're just starting to look into it. I'll let ya know..take care. Love and Prayers, Peggy 9/04 ipf > What part of NC are you going to? Next year I think our whole family is going > to rent 2 beach front houses for a week. Guest guest
Peggy, You are so right about the mountains being breathtaking! I love visiting down there, it's just gorgeous. Even though my most favorite places on earth are all by the ocean there is just something about the mountains.... Your sister's home sounds like a dream... I'm tentatively planning to leave the 26th of September and I'm going to take 2 days to drive down. I used to do the drive in one loooong day (about 11 hours) but I wouldn't even think of attempting that now. I'm going alone though I'll be accompanied by lots of angels to protect me. I'll be staying in Boone till Saturday the 30th and from there drive back east to Hillsborough NC to my sister's house. My parents will also be visiting there at that time and we'll do some househunting and just general looking around with an eye towards moving hopefully next spring. I'll stay at Amy's till I wear out my welcome and then drive home again in 2 days. Just out of curiousity what kinds of mouisture issues did you have with the Inogen? How many wires does the thing have? There are two people at rehab that use them and so far I've only seen the air hose of course and the power cord if they're not using the battery. Are there alot more cords? Beth IPF 06/06Draw close. Hold hands. Life is short. God is good. Re: THANK HIM>>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> I don't write very often but read a lot and listen and absorb. Guest guest
Power hose 50 ft., air hose7 ft, remote wire aprox. 7 ft. My feet, makes a bad combonation. The remote feature is great but I wasn't crazy about all the wires & hoses. On my concentrator I use a water bottle to keep some moisture in my throat and nose. That one doesn't an for some reason I dry out until I can hardly talk... That has to be fixed.. ( Poor Joyce ) I think of her every time I dry out so much and can't talk. So anyhow I switched back to bottles. Your trip sounds like a wonderful time. Love and Prayers, Peggy 9/04 ipf > Peggy, > You are so right about the mountains being breathtaking! Guest guest
Beth, I by no means want to discourage you from getting the Inogen. It is great for trips etc. but for the main one here at home, I just feel more comfortable with that big LOUD brown machine over there with it's water bottle attached. LOL.. I hope you didn't think I was discouraging you from it. Love and Prayers, Peggy 9/04 ipf Peggy, You are so right about the mountains being breathtaking! Guest guest
Peggy, Not at all....I haven't an opinion one way or the other at this point, I just want to try it for a few days and see what I think. The one thing that concerns me is that the Inogen only works on pulse and not continuous. So far that's probably fine for me but I will still need tanks for exercise. In talking to the two folks at rehab who use it, they seem to love it but I will of course have to judge for myself. I don't use anything to moisturize the air currently so I'm not worried about that and there are so many hoses and cords around here now that I think I'd just be exchanging one for the other instead of adding but we'll see. Don't ever feel like your discouraging me or hurting my feelings by giving your honest opinion... that's what I asked for silly lady. I appreciate your candor. I think you're a special lady Peggy and I'm grateful that God put you in my life!!! Beth IPF 06/06Draw close. Hold hands. Life is short. God is good.
