Hi a,

Don't know if anyone has gotten back to you yet so I thought I would. First

let me say I hope you do decide to join the PSC-group. It really is very

informative and everyone is very caring and supportive.

I am so sorry to hear of your sons' recent diagnosis of UC and PSC. I can

begin to imagine how you must be feeling as my son was diagnosed with both

diseases in 1997 when he was 18. We feel very fortunate since he seems to

be asymptomatic at this point and is enjoying his junior year in college.

But the worry has been very intense not only about his physical health but

also how he has handled this emotionally. Initially he kept things to

himself finally started to talk and I think he is doing much better now.

How do you explain all of this to someone as young as your son? How is he

doing? Was the PSC found as a result of the UC? Do you know what type of

UC he has and what stage of PSC he is in? Have you been able to get

helpful information? Have the healthier providers been helpful? How are you

and the rest of your family doing? Allot of questions. Don't feel you need

to answer them.
