hi there ~ this is where my mind went with this:  if i don't go to the School,

it means i don't need to go.  and i would question any thoughts that argued

with that reality.  i have The Work and that is the most important thing, for

me.  having said that...i encourage anyone who wants to go to the School, and

thinks that the cost is 'barring' them from attending, to question that (if it

feels stressful and they are interested), and then apply for a scholarship, or

ask friends for the money, etc..whatever comes to them to do to get the

money!  i didn't have the cost of tuition when i wanted to go to the School,

and i applied for a scholarship and attended in 2001.

Considering the cost of the school. Barring people from going. Could this be a

good thing? If this is a friendly universe, how could this be a good thing?

Dear Segionet,

well, who should not be " barred " ?

I don't think that anyone needs the school.

was in Berlin, once. I went to see her. At that event, one person asked

her, why the school was so outrageously expensive, and answered that he

could see all the costs on the website for the work, that all expenses were

listed there. And that if he felt he couldn't afford it, that he was invited to

join for free.

I don't know if he took her up on that offer. As far as I know, there are

several options for people who can not afford it, like monthly payments.

However, do you feel barred yourself, or who are you talking about?

Hi ,

Thanks for the reply.

However, do you feel barred yourself, or who are you talking about?

Hmm, do I feel barred? Yes and no. Right now I don't want to go. I think if I

really wanted to go again I would do it. If I am barred it is because I don't

feel ready to go.

I was asking for me and for many others who say that they don't have the money.

I was questioning that it should be an obstacle for many. Why throw that

charge in if you want to enlighten as many people as possible as fast as

possible. (Registration:$5,110 (tuition $3,545, accommodations $1,565))

It feels like abuse. Here is wonderful freedom, get your fill only $5,110, plus

the cost of plane ticket, shuttle service, airport parking etc. We hope everyone

of you in the world will attend. You battered, starving, depressed, and so on.

How could it be a good thing that this charge exists? If this is a friendly

universe how could it be a good thing? Who does it serve? How does it serve.

It is a question.

So, they can't go, because they don't have the money. They tell you do, and can

you absolutely know that it's true? I know that I find a lot of excuses for not

living the life I pretend to want. I am good at that.

> I was questioning that it should be an obstacle for many.

What is it, then? " The school should be free for everyone " ? I haven't done the

work for some years, now. I know that it's not because of money issues, the work

is free.

What I am saying, is that we (I) even make up reasons for not getting

enlightened, and I believe that ultimately it is because of fear to loose

something.

of course it does. Because you are arguing with reality, about something you can

not do anything about. believing " they should offer the school for free " is what

feels like abuse when you see that they don't. Whose business is it? And what is

it you can do something about.

> Here is wonderful freedom, get your fill only $5,110, plus the cost of plane

It is a good thing, because it is what is. It serves you, because it shows you

that there still is something you are arguing with.

Pain is nothing but a signal that I am arguing with reality. And if I resist it,

it'll get stronger. Until I free myself. That's how friendly this universe is.

Hi

A few years ago I had the thought that I want to do the school

so, I told katie I don't have the money and she gave me scholarship.

simple.

My dad payed for the expenses of the hotel.

It was a waste of money!

And that is just another thought...

What do I know.

But, I would like the school to be more like boot camp. 10 days of just

doing the work, making it a habit.

First, are you sure that 's goal is to enlighten as many people as possible

as fast possible? I've never heard that from her.

Second, The Work is available via many other routes (books, tapes, on line, in

person) in addition to the The School which you find abusive. You are in no way

being precluded from doing The Work.

how can this be a good thing?  here's what comes to mind:  expenses for

holding the event get paid; people who want to go, who don't have the $ may

learn to ask simply and directly for what they want (a valuable lesson in my

opinion), people without the $ may discover that they DO have the money and

didnt realise it, people who don't have the money may come to see that attending

the School or any other event is not a requirement for freedom ~ questioning

what we believe is the real ticket to freedom and The Work is provided for

free!  (AND we have no idea how many people are given the School for free,

however, i do know that everyone that needs to attend, does.)  thanks for

asking the question, again.

Hi Steve,

that sounds like a cool idea. You know, this mornings I thought about it, and

maybe you want to do that, or maybe there is someone else. Well, there is a

place in Sardegna, Italy, where there are about 14 small abandoned houses. It's

a small village, with a theater, a small 'hostpital', etc. Every house has 2

floors and a garden. The whole complex is situated on a hill, with a beautiful

view onto the lake.

This structure is property of the local electricity company, and I alwas thought

it was a shame that no one is using it. Maybe there is a possibility of renting

or buying that, setting it in good shape and doing something like a bootcamp for

the work.

Maybe it could go even go as a non-profit organization and get funding.

What do you guys think?

This hit the nail on the head for me... Brilliant.

~April

It is a good thing, because it is what is. It serves you, because it shows you

that there still is something you are arguing with.

Pain is nothing but a signal that I am arguing with reality. And if I resist it,

it'll get stronger. Until I free myself. That's how friendly this universe is.

Oh yes, I want to go, when will it be ready? Do you have a web address where we

can see a picture of it?

Dear ne,

There is no web-address yet. So far, it exists as an idea in my mind. I don't

know how to go on about it, but I will find out what is feasible if I feel that

enough people are interested and I won't be on my own.

I love, love, love the idea. A Byron community. Oh my goodness, the

richness in that. I can post to facebook Byron pages.

There were a few times, maybe many times I have dreamed of things, things I just

wanted. I once imagined building an art gallery in the basement of this big

n house I was living in. And guess what, someone built that art gallery.

I pictured it so vividly and after I moved out, there it was.

do not give up. Picture it, figure all the angles, the colors, the

smells, the textures, the people there. You may find yourself there.

I just hope it is not too expensive for me to go!

Ha Ha, money you old rascal you.

I really mean it about imagining, without motive.

Thanks!

Hi Ossie,

actually...

> > It was for me because I was seeing it. It reminded me of the biblical line

many are called but few are chosen. >>

>

> It is really " many are called but few accept the call. " Something quirky in

the translations. Otherwise it would be that God or Jesus call many out and then

pick on a few and send the rest packing. That is what humans do (American Idol.

In Reality there is only One - Mind.

> Since this is duality, then you will have to accept the opposite premise, " if

God/reality don't want them to go the school .... " And, that doesn't sit right

with me.

>

....it *does* sit right with me.

If God doesn't want me to go to the school, I won't go. Then that is what is. It

wouldn't have to keep me from trying to. And it wouldn't have to keep me from

wanting to go. The latter would be my confusion, keeping me from realizing that

not going *now* is my path.

> Reality/God simply is ... Reality/God does nothing. As BK says, paraphrasing,

no one can keep me from doing something, that is my job.

>

I believe it is: no one can keep me from wanting something. THAT is my job.

A helpful reminder each whence in a while.

> It is we that who has to align ourselves with Reality/God not the other way

around. If one is in this place, they wouldn't need to go to the School. ;-)

>

And there might be other 'reasons' they don't need to go. E.g. they aren't

going.

> <<All the talk about going, not going, money - creates a buzz of excitement

that seemed incongruous with the concern for the apparent other. The buzz feels

very lively, exciting, like the doer knocking on my door.>>

to not be aware of of the activities in their under world.

I have been meditating on this for weeks now. What I notice is...

1) I have been to the school

2) I am still assimilating what happened for me there.

3) I recently looked at the exercises we did. I noticed that I have a mountain

of exercises to repeat and do in more depth.

4) I have not even touched again on most of what we covered with myself or

anyone else.

5) I have no where near done all the homework from the school.

6) If I did all the homework I could be more concerned about going back. 7) I

got enough homework to keep me busy for years at the school.

8) I got a whole enlightenment program at the school. The rest is up to me

whether I go back or just continue to do the school where I am in the present

moment.

9) Going back amounts to desiring hand holding for inquiry. I don't have the

" discipline " , inclination to do it on my own.

10) The school is NOT too expensive for what I got.

11) She does give out scholarships. Will I ask for one? If I do, will the school

still be too expensive? It will cost me looking at my suffering, trusting the

work, my willingness.

This just goes on and on.

Thanks,

ne
