oh we all have tried the feeling approach to diabetes and I'm just glad she

now sees it isn't as good an indicator as the meter smile.

Yes, strips can get ya for certin. However, once you figure a set amount of

carbs per meal, and see it giving you predictable results, you can skip the

2 hour post meal test. Of course, that is assuming you eat the *exact*

number of grams and no more/less etc. I.E 30 grams etc.

Congrats to Crystal!That's a tremendous change! With the BS staying in the

levels it is, she wil be below 6 in no time at all! As you said, remember

where you came from. Just keeping working at it to get it where you want

it!

Before I was diagnosed, I felt fine. No symptoms no nothing.

Now I am

taking these pills, testing my blood, and trying to live the low carb

life.

My sugar is down, but I am more tired, and what is worse is, I am

hungry

all of the time. Salads, proteins, fruit, and only 2 potatoes in the

last

two months.

I have regained twelve pounds in the process, which I didn't really

want to

do, but since I had lost seventeen it's not so bad.

Am I missing something, or is this the way it always is? Eating

meals,

regular snacks, no more than two beers in a good day, not a drop of

soda of

any kind, and drinking more water. I notice half a gallon a day has

side

effects that make working difficult, maybe I aught to put a laptop in

the

can? Oh and a phone there as well.

And no I don't want any damn cheese with this wine.

I am from Wisconsin and I hate cheese!!!

I want a big bowl of rice, I want garlic mashed potatoes made with

milk and

butter. Most of all I want to just feel like I have finished a

Thanksgiving dinner, complete with pumpkin pie, toped with whipped

cream;

and washed down with a huge mug of coffee. Do you think I am missing

something that I aught to be eating?

result next week, will let you all know.

Well, I think the " exact amount " is a problem. (smile)

When we were at a buffet some things just jumped onto Crystal's plate.

She had " no idea " how they got there and I would have never known they

were there unless one of our helpful children said " Gee Crystal, I

didn't know you could eat a brownie. " (large glare from Crystal)

I guess it just goes to show that all of us struggle with temptation

from time to time, not just - huh? Oh yes, I helped Crystal out

by eating the brownie myself. Wasn't that good of me?

WE got the rest of the results from the myriad of blood work they did on

Crystal, everything is really GREAT!!!

No problems with kidney, liver or whatever.

well I understand this attitude. I only lost ten pounds in seven weeks to

day while seeing the saw bones. I went out to eat lunch after the

appointment and ate half of a piece of pie that I knew I wasn't suppose to

have. I was upset cause I didn't loose more weight.

Yes Mark, I too identify. I have finally decided to have more than twenty

carbs a day. After all I want to make this a way of life. Am trying for

fifteen per meal.

Rita who is still trying to drop weight.

And, by the way, thanks to you also for your help.

When we each realize that we are all pretty much in the same boat then

we will be able to just get on with life.

While it is true that I am not a Diabetic I too have my Achilles Heel,

alcohol.

Just as some are tempted by something with carburetors in it I am

tempted by something which is made from the finest dew in Scotland.

While some have lost functional parts to the Mighty Carb, I have, many

years ago, lost a family to the Dew.

Keep the Faith and keep on truckin'.

Went for groceries last night and did not buy one pie, cake, pudding,

bread, tomato or candy. Tomato being my personal downfall. Ah but I did

Thanks . I whizzed past a message a week or two ago about Pepsi

Edge. What about aditional caffeine?

If it has more bounce and no calories, I'll go for it. Smile.
