I'm sixty seven and this year was one of those years I would like to forgit. I have been thee hospital a llnumber of times mostly with diqabetic relateed problems. I had my left lower leg amputated on september seventh and about a monnth ago I received my procises, I;'m doing good gitting arounnd now. friends wayne. p,.s. by the way welcome to the list. Introduce myself Hi Everyone Hello My name is and I'm 34 years old I have a four year old son I also have a guide dog named Amber she is a golden retreiver. I heard about your group from a friend on another a list. I found out I was diabetic in 1999 when I found out I was pregnant, but really the Dr's might think I was diabetic before I got pregnant. I also have glaucoma but I was born with that. I hope to make new friends out of this group and to here from others about or I mean to share their experiences with diabetes. If you have excessive weitht of 100 pounds or more, which is clinical morbid obesity, then Dr. Mirkin recommends consulting a physician about getting by-pass surgery. This is his best recommendation for those suffering with morbid obesity, which is a serious health problem. Guest guest Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 Hi , Welcome to the group. I too have fibromyalgia or fms as we call it. lol Have they dx'd you with Rickets? It sounds like that dx would be in order with the low amts of minerals in your system. I also have Rickets. There is nothing they can really do for it except take supplements at higher doses than the FDA recommends for normal people. I use to do the b12 shots, but somehow those leveled out on me and don't have to do them anymore. Good luck with it all and you've come to the right place. Lots of nice people here with lots of different illnesses. Tommie Introduce myself Hi to everyone. i just joined the group. I belong to another group for fibromyalgia but wanted to expand my horizons a bit. I also have sever migraines and arthritis. I am also B12, vitamin D and iron deficient. I have to do iron infusions every couple of months because my body has stoped absorbing through my stomach. I did a bone marrow test in October and they found NO iron. I was told it took years to get to that point. I have been ill since 2000 but was officialy diagnosed April of 2006 with the Fibro and arthritis. They also think there is some kind of auto immune thing going on but not sure what. I am in pain 24/7. Some days are better than others as you guys know. I have tried hard to stay away from the narcotics. I am a mother of a seven year old and my husband no longer drives due to the reprocutions of a brain tumor. Increasing my vitamins and iron has increased my energy level. I miss being myself and being able to play with my son. I was also in graduate school for counseling and only had one year left when things got so bad that I had to stop. I was planning becoming a play therapist but I can no longer have the energy to play. I am determined to finish, even if it is one class at a time.
