That is worrisome, . I think you need to discuss increasing your Alacor

pills with your doctor, to lower the pressure inside your kidneys.

That's what the doctor did - but it weren't enought.

I would also have to take another tablet called Centyl (kaliumklorid).

Centyl is probably the trade mark in Danish. They consists of:

- 25 mg Bendroflumethiazid

- 573 mg Kalil chloridum

Again I don't know the English word - but their function is to

lower the pressure inside the kidneys (water driving) and are

used in combination with the ACE tablets.

Hmmm ... " Centyl " is not at RxList.com. All I could find is " calcium

chloride " - an electrolyte solution. Why not suggest a beta blocker to your

doctor, ?

They have had a very positive effect on my bp, so they are working

as they should.

Alacor - blood pressure tablet (ACE - etc. ): breast pains

dissapear but bp remains to high (doctors can't explain

why the breast pains dissappear) >>

If your blood was too thick (sticky platelets), and you have a thickened

septum from years of hypertension, as I do, the ACE inhibitor helps

" unstick " your blood, so it passes through your septum more easily. And your

heart doesn't have to work so hard.

Thank you. That's the kind of info I'm searching for - why didn't the

doctor say anything about that - to busy :(

Do you use the same unit of measure that we use in the U.S.? If so, you will

want to struggle to get that number down below 6.0, if possible.

Yes, it's the same measure (thought that you used above x 18 as a measure in

the US)

It is absolutely possible to achieve good control without drugs if your

pancreas is still healthy enough and you reach your desired weight and

remain physically active. It is inspiring to see the new determination

evident in your recent posts!

Susie (reaching over and removing the Banana Split Pie recipe from 's

recipe box)

I may never see it again. A terrible thought! (but weren't this recipee

designed especially for diabetics?)

Tootie, that's terrific. Excellent job.

Naomi --

It is MHO that you shouldn't feel badly about putting up the [banana split

pie] recipe on the List. There are so many people here using so many

variables of diet that I think you can let the individuals decide for

themselves whether or not to try a certain recipe. We are responsible for

ourselves. And we do need to use discretion based on our own

circumstances. Please don't feel guilty. (I missed the recipe because I

probably skimmed over it on account of the contents. -- Figured it was too

carby for me. I belong to another Recipe List, and frequently pass over

many recipes for this as well as other reasons.)
