So thank you, thank-you all of you, May we all have a less painful day. is it possible to take some med's that take the edge off your pain yet don't make U feel drugged? just bringing that pain level down can add so much to quality of life .. my husband is one of those pull your boot straps up guys so I understand what you mean but at some point U need to give in so U don't lose what life you have... I cant take a lot of med's because it depresses my breathing and I have ventilator induced COPD but I can usually keep levels down enough to give me some quality of life and i'm not willing to give that up... Guest guest
Hey, I'm making those choc peanut butter balls too. lol I was going to make them Saturday but sis said those are too fattening. lol Guess what? She's getting some for Christmas!! They are going in my gift baskets. lol We still have snow on the ground. I love it! Yesterday we saw kids building a snowman, yes we still have that much snow in some yards. My pain has eased up. It's nothing like it was last week. I did run out of short acting pain meds and doc has mailed me another script. I will get that today. Hopefully. I hope the mail isn't slowed already due to Christmas packing. I bet it is, but keeping my fingers cross the script comes today. Guest guest
HI Tommie, Yes I had a GREAT CHRISTMAS with my family. It really was fun to get out of the house, ya know what I mean?? Anyway, since I have " found everyone again " , LOL, I have had two horrible flare ups with my neck and back. OMG, just last weekend I was flat on my back in such pain I couldnt move. I have good pain mgmt meds and a great pain doc, but ya know after being on them for so long, sometimes they just dont work. Oh they take the edge off, but sometimes during a bad flare up thats all they do, take the edge off. Normally, if I am not having a bad day, they work just fine. I am lucky that I do have a great pain mgmt doc and he does not have me undermedicated, and that is good. I am over my horrible flare up, almost. My right arm is still hurting and that is due to my neck problem. I have had neck surgery , the plates screws and skin graft etc, years ago, and I do have some flareups occasionally with the neck. I do anything I can so that I DONT have to have another neck surgery. That surgery was so bad and very painful and annoying with having to wear that hard neck brace for so long in the heat and humidity of florida, as I had it in june and july and august, I mean I had to wear that collar those hottest months. Oh well... I am now using heat on my arm for the pain for my neck and if my back acts up on me I need heat there also. But I am getting better thank goodness. I do thank you for asking how I am doing and how my holiday's went, thanks Tommie. I hope , Tommie that you are doing ok. Are you having any major flare ups with your pain right now?? I sure do hope not. Oh and also someone tell me about that ice storm in OKLAHOMA,, if you are ok, and if you didnt lose power and if you are able to get online!! I hope whoever is in the line of the Ice STORM in OKLAHOMA, is safe and doesnt have too many problems . I hate what mother nature does to us, in all the different areas of the country. But... thats the way it is and we all must deal with all of it. Right?? well, I better go, as I am just rambling right now. LOL Take care everyone and have a good weekend and I hope and Pray that all of us have low pain levels this weekend. Take care, Love, in orlando , florida Tommie wrote: Yep It's nice to have you back . I'm so glad your computer is fixed and you are doing ok. It sure sounds like you haven't had it too awfully bad since we last heard from you. That's great! I know you have the usual pain and stuff, yes, hugs! But no major flares? I sure hope not anyway. I can't remember if you told us earlier in the first post if you had a good Christmas, it seems you did. Gosh if I only had a memory. Gonna have to go see that Wizard! Anyway, I hope you had a Merry one and a Happy New Year too. 2007 has to be better in some ways for all of us! Hugs and love, Tommie Re: tommie Hello again to everyone, Tommie Hello again, and thanks to all who have welcomed me back again. I did really miss everyone and I do enjoy reading all of the posts. I hate it that we're all in so much pain, but when I hear that someone else is worse off than I am , well then it makes me feel better that I am not as bad as that person, but I feel bad for that person. Anyway, today was a day to go to my primary care doc, to get refills on my daily meds, and also I needed blood drawn again, I get it drawn every three months, my primary care doc wants it, to keep track of my liver and everything else, because of all the meds I take, and the pain mgmt doc wants it for keeping track of the liver, and since I have horrible veins, always have had no veins to speak of, and its soooo hard to get blood from me, well, I just get it taken at my primary care doc and then bring a copy to the pain mgmt doc. I will not go thru it twice. NOPE NO WAY, and why should I go thru it twice just so the primary doc and pain mgmt doc can have the same results?? that makes no sense. Well today my doc was very busy, and he usually gets my blood on the first try, and sent his nurse in to do it, she has in the past gotten it, and doesnt hurt, well she did stick me twice, it did not hurt when she was doing it, but now my arm is a bit bruised up. and it does hurt. I hate having teeny tiny no veins for when they need blood or an IV in me!! And the worst part is: before I got on SSDI, and worked, my job was medical lab tech, and I did draw blood for a living!!! LOL I always say now that I am getting paid back now for all of the patients I stuck for over 30 years of working in this profession. And its also bad cause I know what needle they should use, and where they should try to get my blood, I used to never tell any nurses techs or whoever took my blood that I used to do it, because they would get an attitude, but now, as it is getting worse trying to get my blood, I do tell them and they all say to me, thank you, u know your own body and veins and where to get it, so they like me to tell them where to stick me so they can get the blood. Well, now I wont have to have any more blood hopefully drawn, for at least three more months. Well, enough of that talk, LOL I hope you all have less pain today, and I feel for all of you who are in really bad pain. The weather here in Florida has been so nutty, we usually do get some cool months in the winter, but so far not so many cool days, we did have a few days in the 30's early morning, and some frost, but today it was nice and cool early in the morning, but it got into the high 70's today. and I have heard and seen the plants that are blooming, and they shouldnt be doing this right now. the plants etc are all so mixed up due to this nutty weather, my tv is on and in the background I am hearing the news and they are saying our weather here in florida will be in the 80s this weekend, I do like a little bit of cool weather only because we are always so hot and humid and cool is a nice break, but... the cool does bother all of my bone problems and arthritis etc. I guess I am not ever gonna be happy!! I know one thing for sure though, I am happy that I am not living in an area where there is snow and ICE STORMs, and my friend who lives in ENID OKLAHOMA, called me to tell me they are getting an Ice storm shortly. I know there are a few here that live in oklahoma and I know you all will know what I am talking about. well... everyone please take care and be careful in the bad weather. I will be praying for not too much pain for all of you in the really cold areas, and also prayers are being said for the person who is having surgery. I cant remember who it is. sorry. well, sorry this is too long, guess I had alot to say. LOL I am going to lie down for awhile, after my full day of doctor ,pharmacy and grocery store and taking my little doggie out with me riding on my scoter, as I cannot walk that far or for too long with my cane, so I use the scooter. And I am totally exhausted and my neck and back are really hurting me now. So...... Bye all. Love denise in orlando florida --------------------------------- Cheap Talk? Check out Yahoo! Guest guest
Hey Keliz Forgive me for taking so long in responding to this email. It's got buried as I got behind again. I had even deleted everything in my in box at one time and started over, now I'm struggling to stay below 100 posts from everyone again. lol I'll get in a routine if some of this stress ever lifts. It was so nice of you to think of me. I think of you often as well. Along with everyone else on here, but you stand out in my mind sometimes for some reason I guess cause I like ya so much! lol I'm so glad you enjoyed your outting. Even if the movie was icky, still sounds like fun and you got to go out with friends for dinner and visit too. That's great. The dessert sounds sinful! LOL Did you gain 5 lbs from it? I sure hope not. Weight is so hard for us to lose. I've gained more weight and don't know why or how. A few wks ago I went to the doc, a return visit from 2 wks prior, I weighed 17 lbs more two wks later. I have no idea. We even weighed me twice and then I went to another doc of mine and the larger number was there too, plus I had gone to another doc of mine close to the two wk prior appt and the wt was the same or close on the lower end too, so the gain was real. The doc didn't know what to think and I have no clue. I gained 17 lbs out of no where? How can that happen? Yumm on the brisket! Did it turn out good? I bet it did. Did you get all your laundry done? Stinks you had to do it on a nice day It's Spring time, we'll have more nice days! The only problem is here in Oklahoma Spring doesn't last long. It usually goes from Winter to Summer, but so far, it's looking like spring still and it's been 2 wks! Ok, I'm going back to bed shortly, I'm hurting terribly. Hugs, Tommie Tommie Hi, how are you doin' today? I woke up and thought of you today so I thought I would write. Yesterday a group of 11 of us went to see " 300 " at IMAX. It was ok, the way they filmed it was interesting but there was a lot of blood, yech. Anyway a group of 6 of us went to a restaurant called Rockbottom. Even ordered desert. A yummy fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream and raspberry topping. OMG, heaven. Went home and was too full to move.lol. Today is beautiful, warm and not a cloud in the sky. Too bad today is laundry day, I kinda let it get out of hand cuz I HATE doing the laundry, so now I have a whole day of it. Besides that, I am watching CourTV on and off and wishing I could take a nap. I cant get used to Daylight Savings Time. I woke up this morning at 9 o'clock. It was wonderful. Tomarrow Jeff is going to use his smoker to cook a brisket, it takes 8 hours. I am marinating it now. It is his first time so I dont know how it will turn out. Doesnt that sound yummy? Maybe with a cole slaw. YUM. well gotta go, ((((hugs)))) keliz
Guest guest
Keliz, You never need to apologize for venting. We are here for that very reason, support! And you have to vent in order to get support, right? Then don't worry about it, we all do our share of complaining too. lol I know I do. Have you tried a dark, quiet room for your headache? I know you said it's not a migraine, but this could help ease it some, right? Never hurts to try. Is the pain stemming from your neck? You could have some fibro muscles on the back of your neck reaping havoc on you and causing this great headache. Try rubbing your neck and see if it is sore, if so, that is probably the culprit. I hope that's all it is anyway. Not to blame everything on fibro, but I usually try to rule that out first. And we can usually do so our selves. WOW, I didn't know your ex was an abuser, physically and emotionally How sad. Danny isn't either really, he gets loud and has called me names, so that is abuse I know, but never physical. I would have him arrested so fast his head would spin as I did have him arrested once, the first year we were together. He got in my face with his finger in mine and a very red face he had, I didn't know what he'd do as he was drunk so I called the police and he got arrested. Spent the night in jail. He hasn't done anything remotely like that since. So, he knows I won't fool around when it comes to my safety. I don't know if we'll even make it to August unless things change for the better. I'm wearing really thin with him. I would love the Danny that I fell in love with, he just isn't here anymore. I don't know if he can find himself and bring him back or not. At this point, it's doubtful, but anything is possible. Feel better soon and take it easy, bed rest in the mean time? Hugs, Tommie Tommie I'm so sorry about Danny. I thought you guys might find a way to make it. But if he is in the way of your happiness, change has to happen. Remember we only have one life to live. My ex husband was an abuser (both physically and verbally) and it wore me down. My whole psyche was damaged. I finally had to literally walk away from him. Hardest and best thing I ever did. He ended up moving to a different state and I havent heard from him in 12 years, Hes probably in jail. LOL. I have an appt with my dr. tomarrow about my menopause symptoms and all these headaches I have been having. Thank god for my pain doc because my primary doc only prescribes pain med if you are dying in front of her and even then it is questionable. She is afraid of the " great controlled prescription overseer " . But she is a good dr. and does have an answers for me, has never let me down. I just hate finding a primary doc who will prescribe controlled medication, its almost impossible here. Thats why I love my pain doc, and he is cute too! Anyway complain, complain,..............sorry. Today started out raining, but the clouds burned off and we had sun! It felt so good on my skin after not having it for so long. My knees feel better today, but I have a headache. Its not a migraine just an intense headache. I already took 2 excedrin, a demerol, and a Soma. Still it hasnt touched it. ARGGGH. I hope today has been good for you, sorry for the complaining novel. Hugs keliz --------------------------------- Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell? Check outnew cars at Yahoo!
