Guest guest
Philip's posting has had me reflecting on the concept of people doing things 'on purpose' - how when I believe someone (or myself) has done something on purpose / deliberately (and often believing they or I shouldn't have) that I'm assuming they had a choice at that moment in time. Yet, when I look back at my own life, I've simply done what has felt right at the time, or what has been done has seemed to be beyond my rational control - I can think of many arguments with my ex-wives where part of me wanted to stop what was happening, yet another part seemed to just keep going. This has got me thinking about situations where I believe people have done things on purpose, like vandalism and graffiti - it doesn't excuse what is done, I'm just more able to see that they are believing their thoughts and doing what feels right at the time. This feels like a half-baked posting, but here it is - would love to hear other people's thoughts on this " on purpose " thing. With thanks, Jon
