Yes pride can be synonymous with the ego. It has been said that the root of

sin can be found in the ego, however any serious student of the alchemical process must

understand that the ego is the "alchemical king" as a positive fiery element belonging to

the soul and consciousness. At first it is a little king as the (vulgar gold) that would be King.

Through the alchemical process this would be king, after being mocked for pretending to be
