I got a flu shot today by my health district. Today was the last day they

were giving them. I couldn't believe the lines of people! I have a weak

immune system and have had the worst flu several times. A few years ago I

had it and had complications like pneumonia which last for 2 months. I don't

want to go through that again! I'm also going to follow the suggestions

below to avoid other viruses this season. I have always hated to shake hands

with people and I hate touching doors and shopping carts, etc, out in public

I don't go out more than is necessary either. I think people who get sick

easily can relate?

My clinic told me today they might be receiving no vaccine this year.

Are there any herbs/supplements/vitamins which will help strengthen us

against the flu?

On a health show today they encouraged folks during the flu season...

*NOT to shake hands

*exercise to stimulate the immune system

*avoid crowds as much as possible

*drink plenty of water

*eat healthy

*get as much sleep as necessary

*sneeze or cough into the arm not the hand

*take a multi-vitamin

Is there anything else we can do?

Love & hope...

I posted this somewhere here in the last couple days.

HANDWASHING - along with those other things. HANDWASH often...soap is not

absolutely necessary- running water is good. Use a papertowel in public

bathrooms to turn off the water and to open the door when leaving the bathroom.

Eating good healthy foods, getting good sleep and exercise will help keep your

immune system running. Handwashing will wash away bacteria and viruses.

Good air ventilation and good air circulation helps dilute bacteria and germ

etc- so keep a window slightly cracked but do not get a bad draft.....

If you use a humdifier, keep it clean- or you will defeat the purpose. Instead

of humidifying you will be sending germs everywhere.
