Hi all,

I have been using Phreesia Pad to check in patients, but now I am thinking about cancelling it. A few patients liked it. Most patients don't. It supposed to save my staff time to check patients' insurance eligibility and it does give alerts on insurance or address change. It takes patients too much time and they don't like to spend 5 minutes each visit to check in. When I started I asked a few people and decided to give it a try.

Has anyone else been using it? What is the experience? And is the cancellation process friendly? I am still half way of 1 year contract and there may be a penalty.

I have no financial interst on the product.

Thank you.

We dont have established patients use the pad, only at the new patients' first visit. we batch check it the morning of the appointment and collect payments if any from the webportal.

I prefer that over my billing software's own eligibility process, its far easier / fast er for the staff. I like their dashboard.Sangeetha

We considered using a check-in kiosk, but we can check patients in faster than the kiosk, especially Medicare patients. Pratt

I could change to only have new patients check in with it. But some times established insurance change or the beginning of year, many insurance change.

Phreesia also charge $50 more /month if the entire month processed fee through the pad is less than $1500, at least that is what they told me. If all the established not check in with it, I may have to pay the extra, you know.

Sangeetha,

To do batch check, do you need to use Kareo to schedule? Cuz right now, Practice Fusion doesn't interface with Phreesia. Phreesia told me that I have to use Kareo schedule.

Thanks to both and Sangeetha for answering my questions. I find the Tech tool helpful, but it could also slow me down. Like Sigh...

We might be talking about 3 different things here1. History taking check in- Instant mdical hisotry is better ( phreesia is very rudimentary)2. copay collection made effortless - useful only if you dont have staff (I use kareo's  for established patients because it auto posts to patient acount -doesnt need to be entered separately). I understand Phreesia has an integration with amazing charts, maybe more useful here.

3. eligibility verification. I used Kareo's a while back. While not horrible, it needed several extra clicks. Phreesia's dashboard UI is slick. We reenter the day's appts on the top tab, and send e and b for all patients.   Really this is the MOST useful feature for MY office, and its all visible in 1 screen, including day's collections

Kareo's e and b was $50 / month, same as this.Sangeetha

Sangeetha,I got some of what you are saying. You do batch check for all the established patients of the day, collect copay to the webportal. So you pay $50/month for E and B. Do you collect copay to webportal of Phreesia or into Kareo? Kareo makes sense, cuz Phreesia would charge another sliding scale fee, you know.

Are you using AC or PF? I do have staff, two actually. I would rather patients spend time checking in, but majority dislike it, or they are not used to it. If I have my staff enter batch entry early of the day, it would take much of their time to enter patients' name one by one. Too bad my left hand and right hand ( PF and Phreesia)can't talk to each other  and it is out of my control.

 Thanks,Wen
