I'll bet this is a new one. My husband is an electrical engineer who

loves gadgets. After visiting his sister in another city, he came

home with two unusual items for us to try. She sells " Chi machines "

which I have used and like, and something I had never heard of

before--a small " dome " that emits far infrared rays, invisible to the

eye, but experienced as warmth. You can lie beneath it and position

it wherever you have pain and it is supposed to help. It comes from

Japan and is labeled there as a " health maintenance device. " I've

done a little searching on the Net but haven't found any satisfying

information. I'm wondering whether this is safe to use for someone

with an autoimmune disease. In the booklet the came with it, there is

a claim that it increases the production of cytokynes (sp?).

Anyone have any info. on this?
