Guest guest
Hello I wanted to get you up to date about what happend in Maastricht yesterday,.. I was there with my best friend,.. I got called in and the doctor asked how I was and I looked with a frown on my face and told him that the whole treatment with the electroshocks on the 2 nerves on my left hip did not help at all , that it got worse and that my right leg is acting up from time to time also,.. And asked him if blocking the nerve with anastecian fluid would be an option,.. but he sayd if we do that will only work for a few hours probably if this dont work at all even,.. So we did talk some more and I told him that I did check on my bloodsugar the last days and it was too high also ,.. it being 9.2 one time and a day or two later 7.8 and I am not a diabetic so that was to high, so I need to keep an eye on that too,.. and the conclusion he made in my case was that I had to start and try Lyrica , 2 times a day a tablet of 75mg and in two weeks double that dosage, to 2 times a day 150 mg ,... and that I had to get back to his office on april 15th to evalutate how that is going ,.. and I asked about the sideeffects , and he sayd that it could cause tiredness and a few other things too ,.. Right now that is the only option , but he also told me that it could work perfect for me but there is a possibility that it doesnt work too , so keep a close eye on it and we will surely talk about that next time I go there,.. Anyway,.. I am exhausted,.. had very little sleep and just already and drained , I hope that will get better in days ,.. This morning I had to visit the Arbo that is the doctor that is hired from work (in a way ) for an evaluation and to see how I am , told him about the bulge in between my 3rd and 4rd vertibra and about the visit in Maastricht, he even asked if I in time would be intrested in getting less hours of work but I told him I want to keep those 26 a week and change that only if it stays this way ,.... So time will tell what is going to happen next,.. liefs Annemie
Guest guest
Annemie, I'm so sorry things aren't going so well. I've been on the lyrica for about a month now, and am gradually increasing to 450 mg in about another week. I started at 100 a day and worked up, to minimize the side effects. The only one I could find was the sleepiness, and I only get that if I sit down and rest right after I take it. If I stay active, which I have been a lot since my kitty died on Friday, I don't feel the sleepiness at all. It works great for me, along with ultracet for the pain. I'm down to 4-6 pills of ultracet a day, which is a huge improvement from 8. I am really noticing a difference now that I'm at 300 mg. My mood is also much improved. The only problem with lyrica that I know of is that it only works well for about 30% of the patients who take it. I hope that you are in that 30% like me! You should notice some improvement in your mood and functioning within a few days on it, if it is going to work for you. Chelle
