Guest guest
I know e-MDs well. I have seen it several times. I know the big names, e-MDs, eClinicalworks, etc. I'm just excited to look at the new cloudbased offerings that are out there, especially if they're CHEAP. Practice Fusion is next for me. > > Greg, > Please take a look at e-MDs. It is not more than any other programs that > you have looked at. Guest guest
,I clicked on the link you gave and I did not see anything in the attached Excel spreadsheet that said anything about Meaningful Use attestation rates. What is the source of your statement about the low Meaningful Use Attestation rate of Practice Fusion? SetoSouth Pasadena, CA Dk, What is your use? How many patients a day, what type of practice? Interestingly, based on percentages, PF had one of the lowest rates of Meaningful Use Attestations in 2011. Wonder what’s going on to keep it so low? Guest guest
I would imagine there are a lot of users who have signed up for a PF account but are inactive. Also many diverse types of providers are on PF.-- _____________________Paras Mehta, MD PGY-4President | CMC [House Staff]Board of Directors | Mecklenburg County Medical SocietyBoard of Directors | American Academy of Medical Acupuncture paras.mehta@...On Fri, Feb 17, 2012 at 7:43 PM, Seto wrote: ,I clicked on the link you gave and I did not see anything in the attached Excel spreadsheet that said anything about Meaningful Use attestation rates. Guest guest
The government data shows 769 PF attestations in 2011 for a gazillion claimed users. Of course, if PF didn’t advertize such awesome user base numbers their attestation percentage could be a lot better. The percents below are of all attestations for the country, not a percent of PFs user base. I’ll let you compute that one. In all fairness, if you add up all the claimed uses of all EMR vendors it likely works out to over 5 EMRs per physician for the country. You can spin these numbers a lot of different ways. The numbers below were sent to me for 2011 attestations. The raw data is in the link you saw. Guest guest
Also keep in mind that they count any patient signed up for the portal a "user". Guest guest
Greg,Just wanted to say "thanks" for all the reviews--please keep them coming (at least until you know you've settled on something.) I'll be particularly interested in your take on PF.KenSent from my iPad 1) CareCloud -- had an hour long demo yesterday. Web-based platform. Gorgeous looking; if you can use an iPad, you can use this software. Truly cloud-based; not browser specific. Easy to use. Flexible note generator. Built-in billing platform which, though I did not thoroughly demo it, looks like it adequately capable and really easy to use. Downsides were that the patient portal in "coming soon." Looks like they're trying to grow it into a mini-Facebook, where you will be able to see who else is logged in, patients, colleagues, and connect in real time. They intend for you to use it with their billing service, and to do so would give you the software for free, in return for a billing percentage (probably 5-7%). If you want to use it and bill yourself, then it is $399-499 a month. But they also want $5K for startup costs/training/install (which I think is a little crazy since the software as demo'ed looks completely ready to use out of the box). 2) Looked at the beat version of Avado yesterday. Probably not quite ready for primetime yet. It is focused more on patient interaction, rather than on EMR uses or Meaningful Use or practice management. But they have recently added a text-based notes generator. But it looks like it will be very powerful for this purpose. I especially liked how you can use it to create buckets for patients to belong to, e.g., Over 65 bucket, the Hypertension bucket, the Taking Statin bucket, and then Broadcast messages to individuals or to Buckets. And run reports on the same. I'm not as certain about what Avado will cost once truly released, but I think the Patient Portal features will likely be free, to both sides of the equation, but extras on the physician side, e.g., the EMR, will incur a monthly subscription cost. Guest guest
I had been a happy AC (Amazing Charts) user until this past December or January when I started encountering an absolutely intolerable number of bugs on the laptop that connects to my desktop where the database resides. Essentially it frequently crashes (due to various unhandled exceptions) whenever I am printing instructions, writing orders, or eprescribing (all use crystal reports). I (or my nurse) have spent ungodly number of hours getting remote help from AC (though often frustratingly delayed) and working with my tech guy who specializes in medical IT and has other clients with AC -- AC is at a loss, and my IT guy has thoroughly checked things out and does not think it's a network, hardware, or conflicting software issue (he's a second opinion, after I had a falling out with my prior IT guy, who also didn't seem as competent as my current guy). I am finally about ready to throw in the towel and transfer to a new EMR, as my tech guy says he has other AC clients with similar bugginess. Seems to have occurred with V6 MU upgrade? Very very frustrating because I like AC otherwise, and I love the price. I'm hobbling along now by running program repairs whenever it crashes, but needless to say, it interrupts patient work flow (I often hop back over to my admin desktop to finish seeing the patient while my nurse runs the repair). Any words of wisdom? Guest guest
, I have been using Amazing charts for 3.5 years and have not had any problems since upgrading to V6 several months ago. And I'm now ready to attest for MU. I hope you get to the bottom of your problem very soon!---Sharlene > > I had been a happy AC (Amazing Charts) user until this past December > or January when I started encountering an absolutely intolerable > number of bugs on the laptop that connects to my desktop where the > database resides. Guest guest
Ellen, I use EZ Claims for billing, as described earlier this evening. I don't use a patient portal, just regular e-mail, for the patients who want to and sign a waiver that they know it's not secure. I know MU Stage 2 will probably require a portal, but I'm not convinced I'm going to jump through all the hoops for Stage 2, anyway.---Sharlene > > > > > > I had been a happy AC (Amazing Charts) user until this past December > > > or January when I started encountering an absolutely intolerable > > > number of bugs on the laptop that connects to my desktop where the > > > database resides.
