Guest guest
We did. They are headquartered less than 10 miles from us. It looks concierge -style to us, but we didn't look into it any further than their website. Pratt Did any of you get a postcard from this company, looks like a company that will turn you into a concierge practice, although it just says " membership practice " Anyone know anything about them. They are spending big dollars to look for doctors, so my feel is they must take a huge chunk. CCote

Guest guest
Yes, I converted my traditional practice to a hybrid model in October. Traditional practice with NP's, and my membership practice. Like MDVIP but not.Annual membership fee (paid quarterly or monthly). Allows for personalized care on patients terms. Patients can communicate thru text, email, or direct phone call. The actual practicing of medicine remains in the docs control, so you not forced to use a specific lab or do a cookie cutter physical. That is entirely up to you the provider to do. Medley offers technology back bone and offers options to enhance your patient care, but it is not mandated. Like MDVIP, it is a 2/3 to 1/3 split on the annual fee. Any billed insurance claims remains your at 100%.rocky Rakesh C. Guest guest
The company is "legit". They have venture capital funding behind them. Talking to the investors, they really would like to eventually take the company public as opposed to selling to a bigger corporate entity (Procto and Gamble bought MDVIP). They also have a physician advisory board to help direct the company. They are really interested in empowering both providers and patients. I lost about 5% of my patients. They projected a 20% attrition, so i thought they did a good job in helping retain my patient base. I suppose you could do it own your own IF you had the time, IT know how, and management skills in the office to do it. I know that there was know way of doing that for my specific situation.i will email off list Rakesh C. Guest guest
I too have a hybrid practice. I started my hybrid back in 2008. I have been solo since 1998, and saw the solo practice is dying trend pretty early. Choices: 1- keep working harder for less 2- join a big group and let them handle the contracts. 3- sell to a hospital system and become an employee 4- convert to a concierge practice. I choose neither! After meeting with a concierge company, and going thru the process of surveys et al, I decided I did not want to work for a concierge company. I could not see the difference between raising my overhead by 1/3 due to accepting insurance contracts from raising my overhead 1/3 and giving it to a concierge company. Concierge care is phenomenal and patients love it! But it gets costly. Why should a patient pay an extra premium for care they already considered concierge, and why should I give that extra money to a concierge company? I chose a hybrid model which many of you have read about in my previous posts. 1- no third party other than traditional Medicare. 2- self pay patients pay my fee at time of service Or 3- annual retainer fee, paid yearly or ACH monthly. These fees range from $499-1299 dependent upon age and number of family members. I always considered the care I give to be Concierge-like, but was getting peasant fees from third parties. Now I get a Concierge-lite fee for my service, direct from my patients, and I do not need to split it with any management company. If you hate business and marketing, and prefer to pay highly for those services, you should look into a mdvip or clone to help. But if you have an established practice in a good area, and you have a good reputation and personality, and the trust of your patients, I don't see why you would need the help. Guest guest
Np's were part of my practice before changing. I pay my Np's salary based on what we collect from there patient visits. Due to my overhead situation, the hybrid was the only way I could do a membership type practice otherwise Iwould have gone straight membership and dumped everything else. The traditional "burn and churn" part of the practice helps me cover my overhead, of which the biggest part is my payment for the building (i own).rocky Rakesh C. Guest guest
I have a high overhead situation. Making more every year, but the space I lease is overpriced, and 2 yr left on lease, have big interest loans that I am barely keeping up with despite now practicing more churn and burn. Not sure I want this model, might work, or maybe just have to leave this space. Worth looking at I guess, will call tomorrow, good time? Guest guest
I agree wtih you, I think my practice, and my high income area could support, it but currently not in a financial situation to wait 3-6 months for it to build, at least not in this lease. May call or email you off list, another day. I could not see the difference between raising my overhead by 1/3 due to accepting insurance contracts from raising my overhead 1/3 and giving it to a concierge company.Concierge care is phenomenal and patients love it! But it gets costly. Why should a patient pay an extra premium for care they already considered concierge, and why should I give that extra money to a concierge company?I chose a hybrid model which many of you have read about in my previous posts. 1- no third party other than traditional Medicare. 2- self pay patients pay my fee at time of serviceOr3- annual retainer fee, paid yearly or ACH monthly. These fees range from $499-1299 dependent upon age and number of family members.I always considered the care I give to be Concierge-like, but was getting peasant fees from third parties. Now I get a Concierge-lite fee for my service, direct from my patients, and I do not need to split it with any management company. If you hate business and marketing, and prefer to pay highly for those services, you should look into a mdvip or clone to help. But if you have an established practice in a good area, and you have a good reputation and personality, and the trust of your patients, I don't see why you would need the help.SteveFounder of the Institute for Medical Wellness in 2008stown, NJ>> Probably not….unless you would like them to take 1/3 of your membership fee….In that way they are like MDVIP….> > > > From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Carla Gibson> Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2012 2:22 PM> To: > Subject: Re: Medley Health> > > > If a practice already has an adequate backbone, is there any reason to consider this?> > > > > To: " " < > > Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2012 2:24 PM> Subject: Re: Medley Health> > > > Yes, I converted my traditional practice to a hybrid model in October. Due to my overhead situation, the hybrid was the only way I could do a membership type practice otherwise Iwould have gone straight membership and dumped everything else. The traditional "burn and churn" part of the practice helps me cover my overhead, of which the biggest part is my payment for the building (i own). rocky Rakesh C.
