There is no minimum to attest.  You will get 75% of Medicare allowable for your first year bonus, if you qualify. You can attest for 2011 if you have 90 days of qualifying data in 2011.  Otherwise, you will want to wait until you have 90 days in 2012 to attest for your first year.  If you don't have many MDC patients, you will not get a check until Feb 2013 if you attest for 2012.  The check gets processed once you have hit the max allowable ($24,000) for the calendar year.

What do you mean by 24,000 Max allowable? Once I hit $24,000 in the claim amount charged to Medicare? What if I never hit that amount? I would never get paid anything? so, it's not worth doing if you only have a handful of medicare patients?

No, , the MU bonus will be 75% of your Medicare allowable charges for the

year, up to a maximum bonus of $18,000 for $24,000 in allowable charges. If you

have less Medicare visits, you will get less money, but still

So, can I still attest for 2011 ( I did the MU data collecting for Oct, Nov and Dec 2011). I never attested, because I wasn't sure.

And then going forward for this year, I should wait until next January to attest?

Thanks for this clarification! I was under the impression that you needed to have 30% of your practice be medicare in order to qualify! Shoot! I could have attested for 2001.

The minimum only applies if you are attesting for Medicaid.  If I were you, I would run the reports to see if you would qualify for 2011, since you can still attest for 2011.  Year 1 attestation only requires 90 days, whether it's in 2011 or 2012.  Year 2 requires 365 days, and is determined by when you attested for year 1.

Are stage  2 requirements sorted out? MAybe you have to do ALL not just X number of items I got 2 that are  troubel.... but I thought there was something up in the air about the requirements?Aw who knows:)

I'm just hoping that they really don't go into effect until 2014.  By then, we will have attested the first 3 years, which is the bulk of the $.

Year 3: $8,000

Year 4: $4,000

Year 5: $2,000

 

This assumes that your Year 1 attestation is 2011 or 2012.  The numbers go down after that.

If I remember correctly it is 44000 over 5 years with Medicare….

 

1st year 18000

2nd year 14000?

3rd, 4th, 5th years total 12000?
