Guest guest
I think the 25 mod has to go on the office visit code.... Pratt Thanks, I thought I remembered hearing it sometime. Of course, I will use the 25 modifier on the preventive service code.---Sharlene > > > > or anybody...is there any limit to the number of CPT items we can bill > for one patient, on one bill, or one date of service? Guest guest
No other office visit was done, just the preventive visit and the procedures (vaccine and cryosurgery).---Sharlene > > > > > > > > or anybody...is there any limit to the number of CPT items we can > bill > > for one patient, on one bill, or one date of service? Guest guest
It goes on the nonproceedure code, can be an office visit or preventative visit code. ________________________________________ From: [ ] On Behalf Of sharkinn [sharkinn@...] Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2012 6:09 PM To: Subject: Re: Billing limits? Guest guest
There is no limit, however, medicare and some others will not pay for multiple procedures on the same day without reducing the fees, or bundling them. E-mds will alert you to this, but it is not perfect. In the case of doing what you have there, no one will pay you for drawing blood and giving immunizations, I usually skip the blood draw. You can do the AK's if you add the 25 modifier to the office visit. ________________________________________ From: [ ] On Behalf Of Pratt [kpratt.1022@...] Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2012 11:08 AM To: Subject: Re: Billing limits? We often bill multiple procedures. I don't think I've put 6 with a charge on a single invoice, but have definitely put 5 (office visit + 2 vaccines + 2 admin codes) plus the PQRI codes. If it gets denied, then I'd add either a -24 or -25 modifier. Guest guest
Jim, I have never had a payer deny payment for a blood draw, no matter what else I did that day. Of course, I will never get rich off the $3-4 it pays! Just a convenience for the patient and makes sure they get it done.---Sharlene > > > or anybody...is there any limit to the number of CPT items we can bill for one patient, on one bill, or one date of service?
