Guest guest
Hi Lamar, Nice work - seems like you are getting some good practice with pointing judgements outwards :-) Good stuff, my experience with the work has been that as I've continued with it I've noticed these more and more - getting these out onto paper or typing them, becoming conscious of them, is the first step to " working " them. In your second inquiry, it wasn't clear what the belief was that you were inquiring into - the turnarounds didn't match any of the statements you made before it. My advice is to try and get clear on the belief you are inquiring into and stick with that structure for the turnarounds - otherwise it's a way for the mind to get slippery and get out of looking at certain things. Out of all of the statements you've come up with, which are the ones that feel most true? I love the one about religious views... have you heard talk about our beliefs being our religion - that her religion used to be " My children should pick up her socks " . One of my religions used to be " My mother should mind her own business " - still comes up from time to time :-) Jon
Guest guest
I want mom to understand me. Mom should understnad my situation. Mom doesnt understand me. Mom should understand me. - (clarify) what would it look like She would know that I'm not happy here and not feel bad about it. - TA. I shouldnt feel bad about mom being unhappy I shouldnt feel bad about mom being unhappy I'm here. Mom should feel bad about me being unhappy here. -I feel like thats true because I am happy here so her feeling bad was telling me its a lie! Yah, I see what your saying Jon. I guess it doesn't really come through when I just write it here, but my experience of the last turn around was I dont want my mom to understand me. I dont want my mom to be sympathetic. My mom should not be sympathetic. That was a real mindblower and felt fantastic.
