It is a sticky patch that you put on the part of your body with shingles pain. There is lidocaine in the patch, so it is topical and kind of numbs the area. It works well for many people, some use it for back pain and other things as well. We used it in the hospital 12 hours on, 12 hours off, and some people couldn't imagine not using it!
