Guest guest
Hi Trudy, Don't know what an extra systolic beat is, for some reason these cause our heart to go into AF. Why I don't not know!! Mine were found to be coming from the Pulmonary veins, hence the idea if you can get rid of them you will not go into AF. I still having the Holter on and it comes off at 1500 today. I woke up at 7 am this morning and I am having lots of these Ectopic beats not fast but lots of Skipped beats. I believe I would have gone into AF but not for the Dofetilide. I can tell when these beats are occurring, I get the very excited on the point of edgy and a craving for sweet things. I get short of breath, just as though you are going into a party or you are on your first date. It's hard to explain. I suspect it will not wear off until I go for a walk. I went for two long walks yesterday one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. The morning one was ok but the afternoon one was very painful then after walking it wore off. So I do not know what the problem is?? Regards C ********************************************************************** This message may contain information which is confidential or privileged. Guest guest
Hi Trudy, Systole is the contraction of the heart, especialy the ventricles, when the blood is forced into the aorta and pulmonary artery. Adj.,Systolic Extra systole,{beats} is an atrial or ventricular contraction occurring prematurely to the basic rhythm of the heart. Hope that Helps, Phyllis M.
