Guest guest
Would need to be kind of careful here, how far out from the bleed? Some anti-oxidants in the natural world are blood thinners, like Pine bark extract. Probably I would go with Omega 3, 3-6,000 a day( 3000 bid), a minor blood thinner. Vit C perhaps for collagen, and cell wall growth rebuilding. Curcumin is a powerful anti-oxidant, I don't think has any blood thinning qualities, Curcumin 400-600 mg a day. Apparently they are try high does antioxidant therapy in Europe to protect the brain tissue from the development free radical oxygen species caused by blood. Any traditional or non-traditional recommendations? Thanks g

Guest guest
I agree with curcumin but UCLA studies (Frautschy, Cole) suggest 900 mg per day. I would give vinpocetine 10 mg twice a day as well - improves circulation and glucose metabolism in brain., MDSent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerrySender: Date: Fri, 13 Jan 2012 11:20:17 -0800 (PST)To: < >ReplyTo: Subject: Hemorrhagic Stroke Does anyone have any suggestions to minimize brain tissue irritation after a hemorrhagic stroke. Guest guest
Not so sure about the 'after' stroke scenario. I have seen/heard of some research that suggests that alpha-lipoic acid can be strongly prophylactic against reperfusion injuries, including to the brain. (I.e if you've got reason to suspect a stroke may be imminent, it wouldn't be a bad idea to premedicate with the stuff to mitigate the subsequent damage.Ken Does anyone have any suggestions to minimize brain tissue irritation after a hemorrhagic stroke. Guest guest
Just some suggestions- The Cucurmin works best if you add ground black pepper or piperine (don't ask me how much) to increase bioavailabiltiy. Also Chinese Scalp Acupuncture stimulates the brain to heal. For doctors who are trained in this - go to Helms acupuncture site and look at list of trainees near you. Where was your pt bleed? CSA works better if bleed was more on surface of brain, poor results w internal capsule www.elainemd.comP or F If you are a patient please allow up to 24 hours for a reply by email.
