Guest guest
Hi Carol, Sounds like you've gotten the royal runaround from your surgery up until now. When I had surgery on my hand in July, the same thing happened--it got infected, stayed swollen and numb, but no one would answer my questions. When the doctor went to take the stitches out, one of the incisions was not even closed, just a big hole. What he failed to take into consideration, even though I told him, was that I had been on chemo AND had an autoimmune disease. Anyway, 3 months later, the wounds are healed but my hand is still very sensitive and has swollen knots in it, and this doctor has left town! I do know that injuries and wounds on the tongue take a loooong time to heal properly, so that is adding to your problems. Perhaps your dentist could give you something to help the healing--mine did when I had a very bad time with mouth sores during the chemo. And whatever you do, do NOT blame yourself! We are often victimized by those who are treating us, simply because we trust them so much and don't ask a lot of questions and demand answers. I won't make that mistake again!
