Guest guest
Cindi, I don't really keep track of my diet that much, and I am not sure how many calories. I do buy organic foods as much as possible, and avoid fast food and junk (except for occasional peanut m & ms at 3pm from the vending machine and I'm sure *some* halloween candy), try to eat fruits and vegetables, drink water instead of soda, etc.. There is room for improvement in my diet, but I can tell you it's a TON healthier than it used to be. I can exercise a lot because my RA is well controlled with the Humira/mtx. But if you are in so much pain you can't stand, then I'd say do some very mild stretching exercises a few times each day. Just reach above your head, reach forward, try to straighten your legs and stretch them long, twist while sitting, turn your head to each side slowly as far as you can and hold it there. If it's your legs, but your arms feel okay, get some 1 lb. weights or soup cans and lift them from your shoulders to above your head 5-15 times, put them to your sides and lift them straight out in front 15 times, then from the front to the sides keeping them perpendicular to the floor, then at your sides and lift them just to your chest bending at the elbows, then from above your head let your arms drop back behind your head bending at the elbows (like you are trying to touch the back of your neck), and any other movement that doesn't hurt.
