Guest guest
Tawny, I'm glad that you'll go on Medicare in January. That's a long time to have to wait, but hopefully you'll hold on until then. Medicare is conducting an experiment whereby they pay for Enbrel or Humira. They already pay for Remicade. The last time I read anything about it, they didn't have enough people who signed up to receive this benefit. It might be worth checking into. Maybe Enbrel might work better for you than Humira has. Guest guest
Sue,....I remember hearing about people signing up for the injections, but didn't get all the details. Didn't Medicare only pay for the Remicade, but now they will pay for the injections? I am hoping for better times soon. The Humira might work for me, if we can go back with the MTX combo. I don't like the side effects of MTX, but we don't always get what we want. I can make it to January, I have made it this long:) I have an appointment in December, but just might change it to January, when the Medicare starts up. Thanks so much, T > > > > I'm feeling a little better today. Guest guest
Yes, Tawny, that's right. They are paying for the injections for a certain number of people as an experimental thing. Here is the URL: http://www.cms.hhs.gov/researchers/demos/drugcoveragedemo.asp Since you're not eligible for Medicare until January, you can't turn in an application yet. Maybe by January, they still won't have their quota, and you can apply then.
