Dear Group,

It really has been a pretty rough week. I appreciate the support that I

have received from this group, it helps - even though I do not not post alot -

Thank You!

You will not believe ! The treatment co-ordinator at my regular Dr's office

has called me every day since Tuesday - telling me that she has talked to

the hyperbaric dept. and the will call and get things set up. Lupe knows what

she is doing and is really good. SOOOOO I wait for the call - no call

Tuesday- no call Wednesday- no call Thursday - so I call and am told that I will

need to talk to the Infectious Disease Dr. before they can get me in.

Meanwhile - there is a hole in my tongue, stitches are hanging out ( I am slowly

eating them), it is raw and bleeding (last night looked like hamburger meat with

blood). I called my regular Dr. to ask for a Duragesic to get me thru the

weekend - which he did:). I got home from the pharmacy and received a call

from the hyperbaric treatment center telling me that they did not think it would

help my situation, they talked it over with the surgeon (who had literally

washed his hands of me when things got bad and sent me to my reg Dr.) and it

should heal on it's own! I think I saw RED, but it was after 4:00 and no one

was in. I went to the bathroom, got out the scissors, and cut out the

useless stitches that I had been requesting be removed all week. I expected

the

the edge of my tongue would have a slight dent and rough edge. I did not

expect a hole that looks like the end of a small elephant trunk! I am using

the

Peridex mouthwash to help prevent infection and skipped my MTX shot, but I

really feel like I have been royally messed with? or am I just emotional

because it still hurts so much? I trust my regular Dr. but I am really

thinking

that the Surgeon jumped the gun to operate. Guess I have a great Halloween

costume.

Thanks for listening,

Gentle Hugs,

Carol M. in CA
