Guest guest
I am now going to display my lack of knowledge...again. I was under the impression that for anything to be counted for CE, it HAD to have a test at the end. Would this not mean that the Paramedic has passed a competency test upon completing the CE? For instance: AHA CPR requires the demonstration of skills and a written test. AHA PALS requires the demonstration of skills and a written test. AHA ACLS requires the demonstration of skills and a written test. AHA NRP requirest the deomnstration of skills and a written test. The last NREMT-P refresher I took required me to complete a written test, and to demonstrate a skill (retrograde tracheal intubation). Every JEMS, Texas EMS, etc CE article I send in requires me to pass a written exam (granted, I could look stuff up, but I don't). Would this not satisfy a Medical Director? You would be demonstrating you competency via a test adminstered (or at least graded) by another person. Most of the time you would be being tested by a trained instructor. Just a thought.
