Aubrey,

Funny you should mention INR. Mine was .9 in March and is now 2.1 (up from

1.9 last week - I get blood drawn once a week now). The tx coord. seems

concerned that they are rising. No blood in stool or otherwise that I am

aware of. What is a critical number for INR?

Sorry I don't think an ERCP birthday is going to fly!! Although, I had 7

of them without a firm diagnosis, so maybe.....

With the changes you've mentioned an ERCP would probably be more

valuable than an MRCP for Rick. As mentioned by TimR they can tell you

different things but only an ERCP allows for dilation or stenting of the

ducts; therefore both diagnosis and treatment. With his increased INR he

sounds like his liver is beginning to fail. Perhaps he will be listed

soon unless he already is. Younger people seem to have a more rapid

course with PSC.

I'm not sure if Small Pox is a live vaccine or not. My guess is that it

isn't because of the nature of the disease. However, no one is going to

be getting this vaccine in relatively near future, unless public health

management changes. There have been no confirmed cases for a number of

years and the World Health Organisation had declared this scourge

defeated. Only a proven case or cases would make public health officials

decide to start revacination for this disease. Most adults should be OK

if there is an outbreak as everyone over the age of 30 in North America

(and most other Western countries) was vacinnated as children.
