Guest guest
HAHAHAHA now that is the LAUGH I needed upon first reading my email today! You painted a very clear picture that most women can relate to!! I must say that I've been with my hubby almost 12 years and have only fallen in once or twice. (and boy was he apologetic!!....now I have my own bathroom and he still puts the seat down in his bathroom!) His mom had 4 boys and even when his brother lived with us he always put the seat down too. I believe their mother must have threatened them with neutering or something equally permanent for all 4 boys to put the seat down automatically without thinking. Its been a nice change because I grew up with 2 brothers who didn't care if their sisters fell in. LOL I can't feel any of it. On more than one occasion I have fallen into the watery abyss of the midnight toilet bowl as a result of my insensate butt. I only noticed after " water " has dripped into my socks. Oh, I love to take a shower at 2 am. AGHHHHH!!!! M. (Mother of Inconsiderate Sons)
Guest guest
The guys in my house don't put the seat down. The way I see it, I don't put the seat up, why should they put the seat down? I have never understood that " requirement " , though most of my female friends have tried to explain it to me. --- finnishcandles@... wrote: > > HAHAHAHA now that is the LAUGH I needed upon first > reading my email today! > > You painted a very clear picture that most women can > relate to!! > > I must say that I've been with my hubby almost 12 > years and have only fallen > in once or twice. Guest guest
The way I see it...men should put the seat down out of courtesy and respect but it all comes down to training. LOL My hubby came trained )~ On a side note, I usually put the top down because I have a Great Pyrenees lap dog who can drink the toilet dry. Nothing like trying to sleep when you hear him in there gulping away!! To his defense he is too big to argue with and the only way I can stop him is to stack things on the lid! If he wants a cold drink he is getting a cold drink!! I can just imagine when we go pick up our Great Dane tomorrow!! I KNOW there will be no amount of stacking stuff on the lid! She's already 2 years old and HUGE so if she wants a drink I suppose she will get one too! (never mind they have fresh food and water twice a day!) The guys in my house don't put the seat down. The way I see it, I don't put the seat up, why should they put the seat down? I have never understood that " requirement " " requirement " <WBR>, though most of my f tried to explain it to me. Guest guest
I have to argue that my guys aren't " untrained " . I would see it as a courtesy for me to put the seat up, too, so they wouldn't have to fiddle with the toilet seat either. I just don't get the double standard thing. I don't put the seat up. They don't put the seat down. We all are responsible for our bathroom habits. It's very simple in our house. No one gets mad at anyone for forgetting the position of the toilet seat, and if I fall in, I figure it's my own dumbness for not paying attention. But I know I'm in the minority when it comes to this attitude, and I'm sure my boys will have one heck of a time finding a woman who won't want to train them to put the seat down. You're getting a dane on top of the other giant dog you have? Are you insane? We have a dane. She's 5 now. We got her as a puppy - a cute little 35 pound 10 week old puppy. She's now 34 inches at the shoulder and stands 6 ft on her hind legs. She ate a door and a wall when she was a puppy. No kidding. She also ate one of the planks in our hard wood floor. She found a knot and it was better than her rawhides. She only drinks out of the toilet when we're not home (if we forget to close the door to the bathroom). She knows she'll get yelled at if she does it when we can hear her. There is no way she can slurp quietly. I love danes, but they are really attached to humans and when you read that they like to lean, listen. leans on me and I fall over. If I'm near her, I have to also be near a wall so I don't land on the floor and hurt myself. They're a very special kind of dog, and I would love another one, but I don't think I have enough house left. --- finnishcandles@... wrote: > > The way I see it...men should put the seat down out > of courtesy and respect > but it all comes down to training.
