Guest guest
" Thanatos " Abstract: The principle of the death drive (Thanatos) is understood as a genuine psychic force connected with the mother complex. Destructivity in repetitious form temporarily emancipates the ego from unconscious dependency in the psychology of phallic-narcissism. It is also present in the immature or fragile personality (the weak ego). Thanatos is unconsciously therapeutic in that it aims at strengthening a weak ego consciousness, thus to ward off unconscious wholeness, invariably associated with the Mother archetype. Although it serves to avoid regression, destructiveness can become obsessive. The sun-god Horus's perennial struggle against Seth, in Egyptian mythology, illustrates the dynamics of Thanatos. Accordingly, every night Seth defends the sun bark by defeating the negative Mother in the guise of the chaos monster Apophis. Thanks to Seth, the sun of consciousness is restored and can rise again in the morning. In history, phallocentric culture is sustained by Thanatos in its restorative capacity, but this runs counter to the ideals of patriarchal culture, whose guiding star is Horus. Keywords: Todestrieb, trauma, suicide, mortido, destrudo, patriarchal, Phallic Mother. Guest guest
What people refuse to realize is that Thanatos is ever at work. This is an example of a human sacrifice involving a boiling of the living victim. This sort of practice was institutionalized in ancient culture. Especially popular was flaying or skinning. An Assyrian torture practice consisted of indirectly punishing a person by flaying his young child before his eyes. " The murders so brutal they shocked even South Africa: Couple shot dead, then son aged 12 is drowned in scalding bath " http://tinyurl.com/d62ho5u http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2179171/ville-family-murders-Horri\ fic-death-boy-12-drowned-boiling-water-robbers-raped-mother.html My article about Thanatos is here: http://home7.swipnet.se/~w-73784/thanatos.htm Mats Winther > > " Thanatos " > > Abstract: The principle of the death drive (Thanatos) is understood as a genuine psychic force connected with the mother complex. Guest guest
In the comment section they say that South African Blacks behave like this because they have been maltreated by Whites, either by the family in question, or historically. This is clearly to stretch a point. In South Africa, the typical victim is a black person. Generally, violent crime is ubiquitous among Blacks. A black man in the U.S. is almost 9 times more likely to commit a rape than a white man. So it amounts to a 900% over-representation(!). This emerges from U.S. Department of Justice report, 'Criminal Victimization in the United States, 2005': http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/pub/pdf/cvus0502.pdf In the U.S., the disproportion in violent crime is at least 900%. Blacks are an estimated 50 times more likely to commit violent crime against a White than vice versa. Compensated for the fact that only 37-38% of rapes are reported, it would mean that ca. 60870 rapes of white women were committed by black men in 2005, whereas white on black rape was statistically zero. Interracial crime is relevant as it creates antagonism in society. Keep in mind that in South Africa matters are considerably worse than in the U.S. In public, the three murderers smiled and made expression of satisfaction. Arguably, they have the same function as sacrificial priests in a culture of human sacrifice. I have argued that Thanatos serves as a defensive function of the weak ego system. The act of sacrifice is beneficial both for themselves and the black population in general, as it brings satisfaction. Thus, it is a reparation for an offense or injury, i.e., it is an atonement sacrifice. The weak ego is very quick to take offence, and the feeling is accumulated in the personal unconscious. In fact, some have argued that the very fact that other people exist at all, is offensive to the narcissistic ego. As long as otherness exists, the weak ego feels threatened and its own existence questioned, especially if the Other has qualities that are superior, in terms of accomplishment, etc. In Western Europe, today, the problem is on the increase. But the authorities are bewildered because the problem is so widespread, and they have no means of dealing with it. In Norway they have decided to educate immigrants about democratic values and the rights of women. It is very typical. Authorities in Western Europe think they only need to enlighten people about what is right and wrong. M.
