Guest guest
Thawstone, please sign yr name! n introduce yrself! Welcome to J=F!! Scroll dowm......... Motherator Alice O. Howell Greetings ya'll. Bit of a rough first week for me trying to find a spot around the fire. Although I read and enjoyed quite a few postings during the week, I was only able to respond to a few due to time restraints. I have time on the weekend, but it's a bit of a handicap - too much times goes by and the relivency fades as new topics come and go. I'll cry you a river.I've had an interesting experience in the last couple of months and I'm curious whether or not any of you have had similar ones. For years and years I've had two recurrent anxiety dreams, not the same dreams, but based on the same themes. Don't worry, I won't bore you by recounting any of them. The theme of one of them is being left out. For instance: friends and/or family off to some fun event, everyone laughing and having a good time, but of course I'm not invited. After waking up from yet another one of these dreams I'd had enough. I litterally cussed out my unconscious, something to the effect of "Alright already, I get the message. Do you have to keep beating me over the head with it? Is this the best you can do? Have you run out of material? You suck, etcetrea, etcetra. It worked! I haven't had another one of those dreams going on two months now. In fact it worked so well I tried it out the next time I had my other recurrent anxiety dream. It worked again. On the other hand I've been trying for years to steer my dreams into subjects of my choice with no success at all. Has anyone else had any success at either of these? Yes! 70 Years ago, I kept having recurrent dreams of high waves threatening to drown me. I wld try to run away from them. One night, in my dresm, A huge one appeared n I stood my ground n faced it. It turned to a cliff (!) and I vould see grass n flowers peeping over the top! Last tidal wave dream. I shld add, that I had just begun to read Jung. When I analyzed these dreams later, I saw that the Unconscious had the upper hand and becoming aware of this solved the problem! As this is most likely an experience many fire-sitters have had, please share it with us. It is a fine new theme for us to follow! love ao
Guest guest
Motherator, I love the imagery of a huge wave turning into a cliff, with flowers on the top no less. It changes one's perspective of the unconscious when you find yourself treating it like an obstinant child to make it behave. I don't recall Jung having anything to say about this. If someone has a reference, please divulge. I had a dream with some interesting imagery two nights ago that you might enjoy. I'll keep it as short as possible. I'm entering what appears to be a bath house along with a very attractive young girl with short cropped, black hair wearing a black, form fitting outfit. The bath house has many rooms full of, from what little I notice, naked overweight older men. The girl reacts very prudishly and looks away. I think she is about to turn around and leave. I'm enthralled with her and don't want her to go, so I tell her to calm down; it's no big deal. She seems to take my advice and we continue through the bathhouse. I look over at her and I'm so taken by her beauty that I spontaeneously decide to try to steal a kiss, but she turns her head away with a look of shame. I ask what's wrong. She dejectedly informs me that she has a wing stub on her left shoulder. I reach around to feel, and just before she brushes my hand away, I do indeed feel the stump of a clipped wing on her left shoulder. I tell her to relax - I've been with winged women before. Then I proceed to write the name of someone on a piece of paper who I reveal can temporarily remove the wing stub. That's it. The visual of winged women is inferred rather than actual, but still, it seemed quite archtypal. Is anyone interested in Bob Dylan? I've been rediscoverying him recently, and I'm stunned by the unconscious imagery that poured through him. It seems the unconscous was moved to deliver a message to the world in the same fashion it delivers messages to us in the night. Inside out, thawstone
