The brand name is: Nature's Bounty Chewable Acidophilus with Bifidus - Milk Free. I take one of these three times daily, preferably with a meal. I hope you like the chewable acidophilus.

Dear Janet,

I understand all the drawbacks associated with codeine, however I would only use it at the beginning of my infections when I expedience severe coughing. It would be impossible for me work without it. Since I am single, under 65, and an independent contractor working directly with the public, I don't have any benefits. Like a lot of us, I must work to pay those never ending bills and especially the mountains of hospital bills my insurance co. doesn't cover. Codeine helped me and never hindered my recovery from my previous bouts of infection. I feel it does have a place when used when it is very necessary.

On some occasions, even with the codeine, if something wanted to come up badly--I still would cough it up.

I agree with you, Marsha. I'm a paralegal and certainly have to stay on my toes at work ... codeine OK at bedtime however I also agree that we should not suppress our coughs as it is nature's way of expelling all that nasty junk! I have constant crackling and wheezing until I expel stuff and it can definitely be embarrassing. I'm at work now and a co-worker just now asked me what was that on my blouse? Yeah, a small piece of phlegm! Grrrr ... I was mortified!Janet
