Guest guest
> I had the EMG too...didn't find anything...depressing...DId you say you were having problems with your feet too?...nerve biopsy in a couple weeks...Caitlin > It is frustrating. I just have a light tingling sensation along the ulnar distribution when at rest. When I'm studying, doing my daughter's hair, trying to do anything with my hands, really, it then gets painful. My hands hurt badly and my forearm muscles become extremely tight, sensation will become reduced. I don't know what to do next - it was my spine doc who did the EMG. My physical and occupational therapists have given me exercises for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I also have nerve glide exercises (or flossing.) They are painful to do, but if nerve entrapment is the culprit, I need to do them. I don't remember reading what sort of doctor you are seeing. If possible, a referral to a pain psychologist can help significantly. The program I was in had my main spine doc, occupational therapist, physical therapist and pain psychologist. I now function much better and my depression is at a low. I had to stop taking my anti- depressants when I couldn't afford to refill them, and somehow I'm still doing better. I think my Tramadol may play a role in that too. I never mentioned having problems with my feet, but oddly its been the past two weeks they'd get tingly too, mostly when I'm sitting or walking the uneven ground around my apartment causes pain in the feet and ankles. I've been getting pain from each L5/S1 that goes to mid-calf, and a small muscle under the calf on the outside has become tender and painful. I'm giving it a couple weeks before calling my doctor. I may just be spending too much time on the computer. Still, I'm much better than I was 6 months ago. For your nerve biopsy, Caitlin, I wish you luck. I hope you go through with it just so you can get it over with! Did your doctor mention any risks? Best wishes, Jackie
