Guest guest
My question would be why would you NOT code the admin fee? That is the only way that we don't lose money on vaccines.... Pratt My new system is requiring NDC codes for any vaccines/injections. I have to tell you I am finding it such a pain to have to add to the bill later on. Are you all including these codes on your bills? Does it automatically get populated or do you have to manually add it in each time you do it? Is it really necessary on the administration code (90471, etc) as well as the item itself(Tdap, etc)?? Margaret
Guest guest
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I do of course code the administration, 90471, etc. But does the NDC really need to go on that too? Does your EMR/Billing systems automatically attach NDC codes or do you have to manually input them? Guest guest
I'm in Connecticut. The carriers here (including Medicare and Medicaid) have been requiring the NDC # on claims for drugs (J codes) for quite sometime. You should check with your payers and/or your provider reps. The payer websites should have billing information. Our PM system stores the NDC codes for the drugs we administer and automatically adds it to our claims. > > My new system is requiring NDC codes for any vaccines/injections.
