Guest guest
Good Morning To All, Wow...Where on earth did that Lucy come from anyway? Just read she is leaving the group for some silly rumors? Wow...she must have some severe problems! I need to vent guys..and I need good ears...so for you that are reading this, I thank you! Brief history..hurt in July 2005..work accident. Diagnosed with RSD over a year ago but worker's comp would not hear of it. It has been a slow process here in Florida getting medical attention. There are not many doctors here that will touch you if you are worker's comp or work related. Anyway...injured left knee July, 2005. Surgery September 29th, 2005. Intense PT for 5 months with no gain. Released me from care...orthopedic doctor..January 2006. Cannot walk...only around the house with furniture or things near me. 2 MRI's later...there were signs of severe problems. Dr. McCarthy orthopedic...NON worker's comp...looks at MRI's to compare injury and post-op surgery. He see's nothing was done in surgery. All looks the same as before accident. Refer's me now to USF in Tampa~Appointment December 27th, 2006 with Dr. Honnan. Here is where I am confused and I need everyone's imput if I may. Dr. Honnan states and confirms YES you have RSD (DUH) Here is the kicker..despite the injuries still in my knee, he claims I should exersize the left leg to build up the muscle tone that was lost through neglect of worker's comp. He CANNOT and WILL NOT perform any surgery on my leg and knee to fix anything more. He states I need to re-train my mind to forget about the pain. My question is this...I could completely understand if the pain was only RSD (not only but I think you know where I am coming from)but with the knee still being injuried, torn and really messed up...how in the world am I suppose to learn to forget pain...and learn to walk normal on this leg? I didn't expect this answer when I left that appointment on the 27th of this month...and I have been having a hard time trying to come to terms with what I was told. Anyone have any advise here? Also...I have only been working with a neurologist for pain meds...and that has been a nightmare in itself with trying to get the correct amount to keep my pain under control. I feel it is all to much with having the RSD pain...not to mention the knee is racked up, and torn pain. Can those of you with RSD please drop me a line and tell me the medications you are taking? If I need to I am going to print this out and take this to my appointment to show this doctor...I need HELP! The pain drives me crazy..and I do not feel any human needs to be put through this! At this point the only pain relief he gave me this month..is a Fentenal Patch which makes me sick to my stomach..and everything takes horrible. That means I am not eating well. I would sincerely appreciate any and all imput on this...thank you all so much for reading my book! I hope you are all having a better day than I.... in Florida
