You can submit a claim on the patient's behalf, even if you are non-par, but not sure why you would do that if the patient is paying cash at time of service?  Most insurance companies have a way to submit electronically directly through their website, but don't know if you can have access to the website if you are non-par.  There may be some sort of clearinghouse that might do it for you.  I think GatewayEDI has a way that you can pay per claim (we pay a flat fee per month).

Easiest would be to print the CMS-1500 and let the patient mail it in themselves.

Just my 2 cents,

Do any legitimate services exist where an office which does not accept insurance can submit electronic claims for services to insurance companies to facilitate efforts by their patients to be reimbursed for services rendered.

We don’t need to submit many claims at the office where I am working.  The boss says maybe 25 or 30 max per week.  We are a cash only practice, but want to be able to help patients try to get reimbursed for the services we provide.    Any suggestions

Office Ally is free. Availity is also free. If you are using an EMR that creates a useable CMS1500 then it should be pretty easy. To: Cc: ericacodes Sent: Wednesday, May 16, 2012 10:56 AM Subject: Free Online
