Guest guest
Dayle, I'm so relieved to hear from you and so sorry you are going through this. I am 43 also and it seems like it's so unfair to be held down this way by our bodies at this age!!! I didn't expect to be disabled until I was much older. How on earth can you possibly work? Why would you lose your food stamps if you took the mobile home? And another relevant question - how can you live on $250 a month? Call the electric and water companies and explain your situation. I'm sure they'll be willing to work with you. Virginia actually has a fund for people who can't afford their heating bills. Maybe Colorado has something similar for utilities? I wish there was more I could do to help you besides sit here and sympathize. I hope your friend and your children come through for you. It sounds more hopeful than it did. The Chicago situation is ideal, but it's so far away! I'm sure you'd really miss your children and your grandson. That's not a fair decision to have to make. I can sure understand your unwillingness to pack, let alone your ability! I'm sure you don't even feel up to it. I'm glad you have some leads. Please check out that News 9 web page and see if they have anything at all that might be helpful. I'm sure if your story got on the air, there would be people coming out of the woodwork. Please keep us informed. I worry about everyone on this group - and by the way - has anyone heard from Gerald lately? I've been thinking of him too and wondering how he's feeling.
