I'm starting to realize that I've been happy even when;

I've been single, with no prospect of any date

When I've been broke, and living on the streets

When I've been 100 pounds overweight

When I haven't gotten my way

When the weather wasn't 'ideal' (yeah, I can see that's a story)

When people don't call me back/follow through

When I don't do that work.

Maybe my happiness doesn't depend on anything external.
