Guest guest
Janet..... Mike, when he is having trouble concentrating takes Lactulose at bedtime.. This helps a great deal. But even more than that we are now starting to watch the amount of protein he ingests. Apparently it has something to do with ammonia build up and because of the restrictions in the bile ducts the ammonia is not filtered out of the body but backs up. The reason Mike's talking to the group himself is (1) he says he doesn't like the computer..(2) Doesn't want people feeling sorry for him...(3) he's just not ready to talk about it yet. I myself hope that I'm presenting his condition in the right way. We talk....but not enought for me. He's afraid he'll upset me.... I tell he its ok to be upset....Maybe its a guy thing....I know this will change with time. Also we are going to have a consultation with his doctor so we can review his entire medical record. Go over what their looking for etc.....I've been hopeing to do this earlier, but Mike wasn't ready. Thanks for listening . Lynn
