Guest guest
, In answer to your questions: 1. There are 987 members listed on the PracticeImprovement1 Yahoo Groups listserv. However, 185 are " bouncing " , meaning that messages are being bounced back from their e-mail addresses, so they may no longer be " active " members of the listserv. So if we take those out, there are still at least 802 active members of the listserv. However, being a member of the listserv is not the same as " being an IMP " . No one knows how many of the listserv members have IMP practices. 2. There are 191 members of the new IdealMedicalPractices website located at IMPCenter.org. Of these, 83 are paid members. You do not have to have an IMP practice to be a paid member. 3. There are 203 practices listed on the IMP Map (www.impmap.com), which has been an informal attempt by me to list as many IMP-style practices as I could find. I haven't updated the site for a few months so there are undoubtedly some new ones that should be added to the map and perhaps some practices that should be removed. BTW, if you have an IMP-style practice and you are not listed on the IMP Map, but would like to be, please contact me to be added to the IMP Map. Anyways, I have no basis to support this, but I have a hunch that there are at least another 100 practices around the country that are practicing as IMP-style practices but have not reached my level of awareness yet. Kind of like dark matter. They are out there, but I don't have a way to find them right now. So there are at least 203 IMP-style practices in the country, and almost certainly more. In another message, you asked about overhead goals of 30-40%. I am not aware of any defined overhead goals for an IMP-style practice. " Lower than a traditional practice " is the only overhead goal I have ever heard of. What is your specific proposal to change the AAFP fee structure? Seto South Pasadena, CA > Im looking for quick easy stats, please help as im not finding easily. > How many imp members? How many on listserve? > Any sense of numbers of " small practices " ? > > I need some stats to support the proposal im writing to request a change in aafp membership. It currently is one price per provider with no variation in fees allowed. Im going to take my proposal this thursday to my local county Aafp chapter to see if they'll support it at a state level. Then if that had support would go to national level. I doubt it will get very far but change always starts somewhere. > > I'll send to the group so others can try in their own states. > I understand and support aafp needs money via membership. But I think creative solutions exist, some of which I'll propose, that could increase membership without loss of income. Who knows, enough people join up might increase their revenue. If everyone always just says no, we'll never have a chance to benefit from change. > > Weakland, MD > Weakland, MD > Ballard Neighborhood Doctors > 5416 Ave NW > Seattle, WA 98107 > Phone: > Fax:
