Guest guest
Yes! Patients can schedule themselves through the Patient Portal....caveat: patient must have a Portal account enabled. If they don't have an account, then it comes into the wait list, which then you have to schedule and email the patient back. Much easier for the patients to do it themselves! Pratt I have noticed some of you really like eMDs and am wondering if with their program it is possible for the patient to schedule the visits without needing the office to confirm them. Think I am going to use amazing charts but considering eMDs thanks,
Guest guest
We love e-MDs. We are cloud-based through Happe-MDs since Jan '11 and were on an in-house server for 5.5 years before that.If the patient doesn't have a portal account, it just comes into the wait list function of schedule. So you have to check that. We do it once or twice/day and search for requests up to 3 months from today. I do all of the billing myself. Since the program is integrated to the Chart, my life is simple. The more insurance companies that allow you to get EFT and ERA's, the better. We use GatewayEDI as our clearinghouse, but there are other, less expensive ones out there that I think will do the same functions, we just have been happy with Gateway and have had too much going on to worry about changing it. They do a great job of scrubbing the claims. My A/R is very low, typically. You can get integrated labs, but we aren't set up for that be sued around here, too many people use too many different labs, based on their insurance. Quest, LabCorp, plus 3 hospitals makes it easier to track for us in DocMan. If they ever get bi-directional interfaces, we will take a much closer look at that functionality of the software. great - maybe I should consider it more seriously. if they don't have a portal account enabled how does the message come in? how is your overall satisfaction? i think one of the other emds users was using their pm and clearinghouse and not using a billing company with minimal effort and reports/help on denied claims - that sounded really appealing as well as fully integrated portal. are labs fully integrated as well (seen as spreadsheet, not as scanned documents)? i would be using labcorp and quest. > > > > I have noticed some of you really like eMDs and am wondering if with their > program it is possible for the patient to schedule the visits without > needing the office to confirm them. Guest guest
We didn't want to maintain the server on our own any more. Plus, we can log in anywhere we have an Internet connection - iPad (which Steve actually uses in the room) is a lot more portable than a laptop!! Cost was about a wash over 5 year's time, but we are saving hours of time quarterly by not having to run the updates ourselves. The cloud is based on the total number of users...we have 3 users. But we have 4 employees (I am part time, and we have a part time receptionist). If we had more users, it probably wouldn't be worth being in the cloud....unless you are not tech savvy at all, in which case you would be paying someone to do your updates for you anyways. The cloud is also more portable....so if you move your office, you just plug into your new Internet connection, and away you go! No moving a humongous server around! Pratt why did you switch from office server to cloud? are you happy with the change? thanks, > > > > > > > > > > > > I have noticed some of you really like eMDs and am wondering if with their > > > program it is possible for the patient to schedule the visits without > > > needing the office to confirm them. Guest guest
There is an annual licensing fee that we pay to e-MDs, and I don't recall what that is, but less than $3000 (so rounded up it is $250/mo, although it is paid annually). Then we have a monthly fee to Happe-MDs that is $89/seat (3 seats = $270/mo) And our monthly fees to gateway, which varies because they also mail out statements for me, but I think it's about $120/mo without the statements. So total is about $640/mo. ,If I my ask what's your monthly costs with your EHR setup?Mike Elliott We love e-MDs.
