Guest guest
I think this is a "shadow" network.Insurance plan "sells" your name to another insurance plan in network. You should call them and ask.If they pay you ok, then take it, if not push back they may increase.Beech Street also did this to me and Multiplan but they seem to pay decently, I'd have to go back and check.Another one, Devon, pays a screaming 60% of Medicare I resoundingly do NOT take them!!!Matt in Western PAemptying my father's house in eastern pa, cash sale death 1.5 years ago, 87 yo heart failure lived here since his death. You have pts like this too, be supportive of them. And even better I can type on my laptop. Thanks for you all keeping ME sane for the last 8 years in IMP!!To: Sent: Saturday, March 3, 2012 3:53:19 PMSubject: Re: Re: AmeriPlan Health Is this somthing like Multiplan where the patient signs but the doctor doesn't have to? Multiplan tried to tell me I had a signed contract with them and when I pushed back they said "the patient has opted to".... I sent it twice but haven't seen it show up on the listserv so I am sending it again. Hope it works this time. a, I have never heard of AmeriPlan, but what I found on the Internet troubles me. If you just Google "AmeriPlan", everything seems OK. But when I used "AmeriPlan scam" as the keywords, I found some worrisome sites, including this one: http://www.medsave.com/health-insurance-resources/What-is-wrong-with-Ameriplan.htm Doesn't seem like a plan that I would want to do business with. Another one to watch out for is MEGA Life & Health Insurance and their associated Midwest National Life Insurance: http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/04_37/b3899076_mz021.htm http://activerain.com/blogsview/608832/mega-life-health-midwest-national-life-finally-get-what-they-deserve- It sounds odd that there is a signed agreement between your doctors and AmeriPlan that your doctors can't recall signing. You would think that you'd have a record of that somewhere. Seto South Pasadena, CA > > Do any of you see AmeriPlan Health patients? The doctors here didn't realize there was an agreement signed back in 2008 until AmeriPlan faxed us a copy. The fee schedule is a big reason why we would cancel, and the work prior to visit, but in the past few years have only had a handful of people call and ask if we accept this plan (not even insurance, just a discount plan). Thought before we cancel, would ask the group if any have had experience, good/bad or otherwise. Any information would help. > > a Hardy > Ballard Neighborhood Doctors >
