Guest guest
Hello IMPs, current and future, The second IMP call this week is featuring Lou Spikol, MD: professionalism and expertise (see below, jokes saved for the call) Thursday, May 3: 11 AM PT, noon MT, 1pm CT, 2pm ETNext month's Thursday call, June 7, featuring IMP founder, L. Gordon discussing his current work, where primary care is heading, etc. Contact me if you are a non-member and need call in info. And consider joining now!Sharon Questions from Lou to think about for the call: 1. In your practices over the years, seeing patients over time, do you feel confident that you have gotten better at doing your job more effectively and more efficiently? 2. If you feel that you need to see more patients in order to make a living, has your expertise allowed you to do that? If not, why not? 3. Has your growing expertise affected the ability to bill for your services-that is when you get better at your job, does this hurt you financially? 4. I have found that over the years as I've gotten to know my patients better and more comfortable with aspects of clinical medicine, I'm able to treat patients for at least some issues over the phone and e-mail. What do you think about this in the setting of face-to-face visits? 5. Do you feel compelled to do more paperwork to justify your knowledge and expertise than is necessary. 6. Have you enabled your patients to help you do work on their behalf. Any other topic of interest can be discussed. When we run out of things to say, the discussion is over.
