My 14 month old had tethered cord surgery two weeks ago. In the

morning, her incision site looks great. By the evening, it looks like

there is a golfball between her spine and her skin. Is this normal

swelling?

Thanks so much,

-Dear Kellie,

So there is no swelling when your little one wakes in the morning,

but by the end of the day, she has a golf ball size lump? Is the

lump directly under her incision? I am sure by now you have probably

spoken with your child's doc. If you have not I think they would be

your best place to start. How is your little one feeling? My son

had a similar situation.

my prayers are with you and your little one,

sincerely, barbR.

  • 3 weeks later...

Seems to me that I remember hearing that this can happen, due to activity,

and to some extent it isn't unusual. But keep an eye on it and I would let

the Dr. know. From nothing to a golfball size does seem a bit much to me. Is

she having any other symptoms?
