It would remind us that we're all connected and in the same boat. It might also inflame intolerance, but that too may lead to greater unity. The key is unity within an ethic of freedom, as opposed to unity under authoritarianism, which is not possible on a global scale. America's rightful place in the world is to promote that ethic, and we've been failing. We keep wanting control, when we should be proving that freedom and unity are compatible, which was the original premise of the United States and the Constitution. >>One thing you can say about creative, spectral, egalitarian globalists - they areweak and decadent (but that is, of course, redundant).<< --Or, you could say that many conservatives are aging cowards who get young men to do their fighting for them. But that would be rude. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
