Guest guest
Dear Joe, I am not from Boston, but live in central Vermont, about 2 1/2 hours away. I wanted to let you and everyone on the jungfire list know about two great upcoming events. The first is the Assisi Conference, being held in Stowe, Vermont next weekend. Conforti, who will be conducting the conference is a Jungian analyst and the author of " Field, Form and Fate. " The topic is " Archetypes and Wisdom: Archetypes, Dreams and the Complex. " was one of the people who originally got me interested in Jung. You may also want to check out the Assisi website: www.assisiconference.com. I also want you to know about the North of Eden community: www.northofeden.com. Their annual dreamwork retreat is coming up next summer on Norris Mountain, Vermont. The dates are July 28-30. They have a great website: www.northofeden.com. You will find me on it as well as a lot of great information about dreamwork. Marc Bregman, who started North of Eden is an amazing person who has broken much new ground in the study and practice of working with dreams. I just came home from one of his classes this morning. Guest guest
The Assisi website is actually www.assisiconferences.com. Sorry for the slight typo. He'd just gotten married and so had a few other things and places on his mine. There were two or three other analysts and lots of psychotherapists plus a scattering of other folk, mayve about 25 in all. We bused up the hills from Rome to Assisi on gently winding roads lined with cyprus. We spent the whole week in Assisi, meeting mostly in the mornings for presentations and discussion - often outside on roof patios with birds wheeling overhead and pidgins strutting the tiled roofs. The sky was a hazy blue the whole week. I don't think I saw a cloud. If one's lungs are in good condition Assisi could be walked end to end in less than an hour. Black robes were 2 to every three on the cobble stone streets. Lots of little shops and sights to see. Some of us had a reunion in Boston the next year. Guest guest
Dear Friends, I have been going to Assisi Conferences in Brattleboro, Vermont for many years. The annual conference is in Assisi, Italy every summer. Go to www.assisiconferences.com for more information. There's a Brattleboro conference coming up in May before the one in Italy. Conforti is the founder and organizer of the conferences. He is a remarkable guy, Jungian analyst. I met him at the Jung Foundation in New York about seven years ago. He was giving a presentation on the puer aeternus. I knew at once I wanted to keep in touch with this guy. I did. The Assisi program has generated a community of very loving, intense people. I am proud to be part of it. I graduated from their 2-year program and have a certificate in archetypal pattern recognition. I think i will always be involved with them in some way. At the Assisi Conference in 2003 I fell in love with and a year later, we were married. The Assisi program, its publications, its people are an experience well worth exploring. It's one of the bright spots in this world and the possibilities it generates are awesome and open-ended. I encourage all of you to check it out.
