Dear Annie, I am sure the trigger for the first episode has no significance

and will not have any bearing on future episodes. Atrial Fibrillation is the

result of " irritable " foci (areas) in or near your heart. You were always

susceptible to AFib, and always will be susceptible to other episodes. AFib

is a relatively a benign condition, millions live with chronic Afib with no

problems.

I wish I could follow my own advise and not be so psychologically upset with

these episodes. We can live a long normal life with Atrial Fibrillation. Dr

Amiodarone does take abt a month to be effective, it is much more effective

in prventing episodes rather converting. I have been on it for 7 months, have

not had a episode after the 1st 2 weeks. I am still scared of the drug. Also

scared of the Afib, wish I could accept Afib. Dr fred
